He can claim his teammates turned their backs on him but to me, it seems like karma. He's skipped games, sulked because he didn't get the starting nod and gone into business for himself time and time again. And now, he's saying he's been disrespected and stabbed in the back. Seems to me like a case of what goes around comes around.
The weirdest thing is people are actually standing up for him, blasting the Knicks and saying that he deserves a lot better than this. A year ago, the general attitude towards him was very different. I guess in the current scenario he's the little guy taking on big business entity and appears as a more sympathetic party being the underdog but still, his own actions have led to this, especially the situation with his teammates. Perhaps if he didn't alienate them (as it would seem he has), they would have stuck up for him.

The Knicks and Nuggets had serious enough discussions about a David Lee-for-Linas Kleiza trade earlier this month that Lee got word something was possible.
Denver coach George Karl reportedly persuaded Nuggets' management to hang on to Kleiza because of his versatility.
Both Kleiza and Lee will be restricted free agents this summer.

Wow, guess what. , that's just fantastic. Normally, it takes him 20 minutes to grab those two boards.
