Anyone buying this game? I'm getting it on release day for ps3, and if it's anything like COD4, it will be great.

Maybe you should release the PC Beta.

I'm considering getting it. WWII games are always fun, just because of the realism, accuracy and history to it all.

All my friends including myself used to play COD4 a lot. A grouse amount considering how much free time i had.

My friend got into the beta for 360, even though he doesn't or hasn't ever owned a 360 (go figure?). Anyways he says it's pretty sick, improvement over COD4, which means basically I'll get it, for PS3.

I also got into the Resistance 2 beta, and while I think it's a lot more robust than COD ever was, I'm more into the shooters like COD or R6 or even maybe Socom. But we'll see, a lot of games coming out.

personally, i got sick of all the WWII FPS games. i loved cod 4 modern warfare. it's a shame once you finish the single player and the mulitplayer, there's not much motivation to play anymore.

I dono it's fun even if you've played it as much as I have. Just getting in there and getting a good kill streak, or just absolutely owning with your friends online. We've had games where me and a friend would go a combined 50 - 5 or so. Like we're amazing at this game. Definately never played a game as much as I've played CoD4.

I'm really looking forward to this game.

I like how they are going back to the roots with WW2... i enjoyed COD4 but WW2 is my favorite setting for a shooter.
Killing nazis is just too much fun :P

CoD4 was kind of the last straw for me.
It was fun, intense and everything, but the scripting really got out of hands with that one. Heavy scripting has never really been a weakness for the series because it was done (mostly) very well in the first 2 games (I'm not counting the edulcorated console-only games), but it was really flawed and frustrating in CoD4. Waves after waves of nazis respawning, until you finally decide to rush towards the next checkpoint and just step in a direction that does not trigger respawns, and by miracle, no more enemies. The game was not full of these moments, but there were enough to spoil the whole thing IMO.

Anyway, World at War does not seem to be any different from the previews, and since it's developed by Treyarch instead of Infinity Ward, I'm really not too convinced with that game for now...

I'm going to buy the game today, getting it 2 days early now. I feel great about this game and if anyone wants to play with/against me just add me on PSN. DoobieMcGruff

I am planning on getting it for PC. I hope next they do one in Vietnam. Not to many Vietnam games are out there.

I would wait for the price to go down then.

Just got the game today. First the game wouldn't run on Vista 64bit so I had to install it on XP. No biggie I guess since it has no DX10 features. (console ports once again holding back PC games) One of the first thing I noticed was the gun sounds, they sound like cap guns. All the guns all sound almost exactly the same also. As someone who has played all the WW2 games and owns a Colt 45 and M1 I am disappointed. You might as well try and use the sounds from MOH:AA they are 10x better. As it stands the sounds for the M1,Thompson,ect are MIA from this game.
