Lamrock93 and homicide1550 - yeah it sucks, feels like that best odds doesn't help you much..

Oskar - yeah Gill is a shooting guard who can also play point guard.

Km26 - I think I'll resing with Kwame, afterall he's restricted free-agent.

Skillmatic - Thanks for the positive thoughts! For instance - Ginobili was 50th or something pick in the second round...

Grizzlies Front Office

Picking the right two
Jul. 9, 2008 - week after draft lottery

11:00AM - FedExForum, Memphis

It's been a week since Grizzlies found out about bad news, landing on 4th overall pick. Iavaroni and West tried out at least a dozen of young players in past two weeks...

"Alright guys, take a five" said Iavaroni when he saw that West has came to the gym.

" Hi Marc, how's it going? "
" Other than minor problems, everything is O.K. "
" So let's see what options do we have...Milwaukee will select C. da Silva, New Orleans is focusing on E. Gill so I guess they'll be picking him. "
" What about Philly? " asked Iavaroni
" Well they like Gill to, maybee he can be their new A.I. , but if he is going to be selected they'll probably be going for power forward "
" So it's either Scot or Medina " added Iavaroni
" Yes, pretty much. " confirmed West to.

" But my guts are telling me that they won't chose Scot " said West confidently.
" If that's the case, we will get the player we would pick if we got 1st pick"
" I know, we can pull this off. I love this Haleem kid, he's some kind of mixture between Tim Thomas, Elton Brand and Dwight Howard. He plays like a veteran star " added West
" What about 2nd round Marc? Are we still going with kid from Lithuania? "
" Oh you mean Dawid? Yes afcourse, I mean this guy can be the next Dirk Nowitzki but probably not for next 3 years. " replied Iavaroni.
" You think he's not going to be picked earlier? " asked West
" No, nobody actually knows in what he can develope and afcourse that that he can nail almost every shot within three-point range " answerd Iavaroni.
" We can bring him in slowly, after all we are planning to give more space to Rudy " also added Iavaroni.

" Man I can't wait for this draft to be over. We can than focus on free agents " said West while his eyes sparked like he was a kid in candy store.
" Please, don't Jerry. My head is tottaly filled with rookies and at the moment I can't think anything than about rookies, we'll deal with them after the draft" said Iavaroni.
" Alright Marc, no worries " said West with smile while pating Iavaroni on shoulders.
" I have to go now, I'll call you later today. Bye Marc" said West and left the gym.
" Ok, bye Jerry " said Iavaroni and returned back to the players.

July 24, 2008

It's official! The NBA 2008 Draft is finished. It was no surprise when Milwaukee revealed their no. 1 pick - C. da Silva - a young power forward centered player who won the European basketball league with Barcelona in 07/08 season. No. 2 pick was E. Gill selected by New Orleans. A 22 years old player from Colorado. Maybee the only "Iverson" type of a player after Iverson. He sure has speed, but can he shoot? We'll see in upcomming season. No. 3 pick was N. Medina selected by Philadelphia - a strong power forward from Uruguay. No. 4 pick was H. Scot selected by Memphis. For some surprising for some not, as he was one of the best rated rookies. It will be very interesting to see how much of an improvement will teams actually get with new talented rookies. It is a great season infront of us.

Great draft! A 89 overall Power Forward, who looks like he can do it all.

Plus a 78 SF.

Great!

This was a really talented draft. Many players about 75.

Sun Apr 13, 2008 9:08 pm

WOw....89 overall....thats great.
And i noticed a 7'1 frame Bradley...more posters to come (Y)

Mon Apr 14, 2008 1:59 am

wow! An 89 overall rookie, he has a better rating than Rudy Gay.. The rookie class you had was strong man!

Mon Apr 14, 2008 2:04 am

Oh my godness, this is sick. I've once had 89 rookie also, who made his ovrl up to 90 in the training camp. And hey, a 78 in a second round.. God blessed your draft, I had Very Strong also, and my 5th pick had overall 76. Lucky one there. Good luck, looking forward to player trading and such. Champions, bring them.

Mon Apr 14, 2008 5:21 am

As the others said, a 89 rookie is impresive, especially drafted 4.
Good, look with the free agency, if you sign someone big, your team is going to be like (Y)

Mon Apr 14, 2008 9:11 am

89 rookie on 4? Great! As GoHornets said, good luck in FA!

Mon Apr 14, 2008 6:50 pm

Mandich - the beast is locked :)

Km26, homicide1550, Oskar, thierryhenry50 - this draft was really sick men....I don't recall that kind of draft....so strong and so many good rookies...although only few are excellent in their potential...

next: free-agency

Mon Apr 14, 2008 10:12 pm

Wow, a rook with 89 overall?

So he's going to bag home the starting pf slot for sure. Or do you plan to see how things go and not just play by the player ratings?

An interesting question...well I was playing with him for a while and he's a great player who can score in volume. Very fast, always among the fastest on the fastbrake. He'll start, no doubt but afcourse I'll try to play as realistic as possible with him - meaning I won't be scoring 40 or 50 points with him...

NBA Free Agency
Image The hunt for free-agents has begun
July 26, 2008

Two days ago teams were picking the newest prospects of today's basketball. Today it is time for players who are already known to them. It's free agency time. Lots of big contracts has expired this year, for instance A. Jamison, E. Okafor, L. Deng etc,.. The team which can offer the most money to the players are Grizzlies. Who are they targeting is still a mystery. Almost all teams are already negotiating with their players whom contracts has expired. Cavaliers have almost a lock with Gibson for re-signing. Also Denver with J.R. Smith and Minnesota with A. Jefferson. Grizzlies mentioned about bringing someone to help out M. Miller on shooting guard position. Are they targeting explosive M. Ellis to spark their fastbrake actions? They will also need a backup power forward as they announced not re-signing with C. Smith. On all of those questions we will soon get an answers.

Wow. Get a SG, I'd go with Iguodala, he can play SF and he is really good defender, and he can shoot and such also, I'd get Iggy, if not then somone like.. Monta, but he doesn't fit under Mike Miller, neither Iguodala.

A lot of good free agents, do the right decisions, btw, sad to see Nash retire. ;/

Oh, and I got to admit, your dynasty is the most interesting to read, keep it active, I hope it will stay as good as it is. :)

Tue Apr 15, 2008 1:56 am

Damn, Nash retired! :(
I've had Nash and Shaq retire in the same year in a dynasty..
The Suns really sucked the following year.
Anyway, good luck trying to find a free agent. Most of the time it's Gordon as the only good one on the market with all of the teams re-signing their players.

Tue Apr 15, 2008 2:20 am

OMG! Nash retired! That just sucks for the Suns, he is not that old to retire.

Hmmm.. I think you should go with Ben Gordon or Monta Ellis.. Getting another PG isn’t a nice idea since you still have Mike Conley who could be a really good player.

Tue Apr 15, 2008 2:27 am

Sad to see Steve retired (N)
Please dont acquire Ellis, he is in every dinasty in the forum. lol.
Ben Gordon is the best option out there, good luck (Y)

Tue Apr 15, 2008 5:19 am

jeey Nash retired :D , nah just kidding :D
Go for Iguodala, great player, as said can shoot and defend !

Tue Apr 15, 2008 5:56 am

The first pick is not good. The Bucks picked a player with a FG rating of 30. LOL
I don't know how important ratings in your Live are but in 2003 I always went for players only looking at FG, 3P and speed.

Tue Apr 15, 2008 6:13 pm

Ellis will actually be a good fit for your team. The guy can fill the lanes and I daresay the best guard in terms of finishing at the basket with either hand.

Nash retiring is just crazy though and that'll hurt the Suns, but that's one less team to worry about.

Looks like Nash's back was to screwed up.. :) Thanks for the tip.

Have no fear :)

Yep, these are Live generated players....go figure :)

I know Ellis is good but like Sanguango said - he's in every dynasty here :D

ImageGrizzlies have signed with Ben Gordon, Paul Millsap and re-signed with Kwame Brown
July 29, 2008

After couple of days negotiating with Gordon, who was split between Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies, he just couldn't resist Grizzlies' offer. A whooping 52.55 million dollars that will Gordon receive in 5 years playing for Grizzlies. Almost every free-agent star that was on the market has re-signed with their original team. Only R. Davis, B. Gordon, Paul Millsap and J. Childress didn't want to re-sing. At the same time Grizzlies also announced that they have signed with Paul Millsap for 5 years. Millsap will receive 39.25 million dollars in that period of time with Grizzlies. As it was obvious Grizzlies have also re-signed with Kwame Brown, he will receive 47.4 million dollars over the next 5 years.

Nice job, you got a really shining young team. Though, I would trade Mike Miller for two guys, like with ovrl around 65-68 to be benched under Gordon and Conley, you would be able to give all your high rated guys good minutes then.. But hey, I almost forgot the inactive list.. Hehe, but yeah, your bench is filled of good players like.. Miller, the 2nd round rookie, someone else ? But it might be good, because if someone gets injuried, it doesn't affect your team at all because everyone has a right hand and a good replacement.

Good luck with it, I still love reading it. :)

Wed Apr 16, 2008 5:41 am

Great pick-up in Gordon! Millsap is also a great spark.

Still don't like you resigned Brown. 9.5M a year. Almost like Gordon, who's much more effective.

But hey, it's your team.

You look good for the next season. That rookie will have a stunning rookie campaign.
