Andreas Dahl wrote:yup, totaly agree with you guys... at would be realy nice with some smoother/simpler dunks in 2004, more realistic...
- on a side note -
i posted this somewhere for 2003 as a question...
it would be great to be able to adjust you'r own dunk-package... maybe not ingame, but with some .dbf etiting though... i think it woulkd be nice... most people would probebly just take the most spectacular, but some woudln't (like me for an example)...
and then... ehm... oh screw it... this was a bad idea...

Anyway, it's not right to copy posts from another forum and post them here as your own. You should link to the original post or post the text as a quote giving credit to the original author.

who cares? you wanna take the credit for that dumb ass post at OS?
they freakin hate anything nba live over there.

Bredrin wrote:Nkredible you explained yourself very well and thats to your credit. There are some things in your post which i do agree with but the majority i dont. The momentum system i do not think is overdone from seeing the video, every sports game has momentum these days madden espn etc. and it is realistic. Basketball is a game where momentum affects everything ...the way the ball bounces, the direction of a deflection, the trajectory of a shot etc. Had the developers not implemented a better momentum system...things like the new drop step would be pointless, coming off screens would be pointless etc. The collision detection all of us pretty much know will be fixed. The player models do look short to me and sometimes awkward in the way they move, the half run/jog animation seems goofy at times to me. I think what i will do is change my screen size and dimensions to get more elongated figures in Live.
The faces and detail i am almost sure will look better in the finished product so i'm not worried about it. The post game u may be right about as what you described was the case in Live 2003. I have seen all videos concerning live 2004 up to now and i have yet to see anything properly showing the ball being worked in the post. In anycase a toned down game tempo always led to an effective post game for me in live 2003 and from what we know 2004 will have game speed sliders to tweak to our liking as well as new freestyle moves in the post. So within that again i'm not concerned enough to call it a flaw yet until i play the game.
In terms of ten man mo cap i dont think its a drastic difference but then again it can be depending on your style of play. I think the biggest effect it will have is on defense and we all know improved realistic defense is always good. its defineatly a step in the right direction and an attempt at improving player movement and the flow of the game. Better a step forward than a step back huh. The automatic guard the ball animation to me is very realistic. It may look awkward during the game but i think that is because we are used to facing up the opponent whenever we have the ball instead of protecting it waiting for a play to develop. If u notice in the videos the moment the defender steps back and relaxes on defense the guard ball is no longer necessary and isnt done. Thats how half court basketball should be, a methodical and strategic pace with good ball sense and movement. I see the potential for those things in the videos despite the beta testers poor play.
I agree 100 percent about the dunks. I actually dont want to see anything in 2004 that reminds me of 2003. I'd prefer to have all new shot animations fadeway animations dribbling dunks layups all of the above. For the most part it seems theyve added some new nice lookin animations liek the fadeaway lebron did in the video, the drop step and some dribbles. However obviously the old dunks are stil there to some degree, many of which were a bit exaggerated.
All in all the game seems promising to me. I realise nothing I say now about faults can be very credible since the game aint out yet so i'm patiently waiting before i blast it lol.
