Nice update (Y)

Its good tos ee the Gordon trade worked out for you, im supprised Cp3 is scoring so low, but I guess its not needed as much with the others contributing well in that area.

Im a bit dissapointed that D-Mase isnt being much of a factor anymore, have you tried playing a small ball lineup with D-Mase and Peja manning the forward spots, I remember I tried D-Mase at PF back in Live 05 and he seemed to have the ability to pull it off, sort of like Shawn Marion, just shorter.

Oh yeah, and as Ty said, dont worry about the lack of replies, you will find that as you keep this going and get more views/posts/pages people will begin to take more notice of the thread, and usually once they visit it once they will continue to come back (Y)

Well I didn't use him much after I got Ben Gordon, but then him being so good at dunking when Gordon or Verejao needed break he would come in and dominate. He would play sg/sf when he went to sf that means peja will goto pf, but when peja tired Bass goes to pf and Butler sf (better shooter) D-Mase is getting more playing time, you'll like my next game update. . .tore it up.

Desmond Mason is the most underrated player in the game. He is only a 68 in the game, when he should be at least a 75. I don't understand why he is rated 6 points lower than Dan Dickau! Anyway, good luck and continue this. I started a Blazers Association from the all-star break, but I don't know what it will become.

I will continue to follow this.

Hornets win another 3 games

Hornets get revenge on Spurs.

Spurs (16-11) @ Hornets (15-10)
Final Score: 87-90

Hornets battled hard and came away with a hard fought victory. Chris Paul had failed to make it a two possesion game, with only twenty seconds left, when he missed two free throws. Then with three seconds left Paul made two free throws to make it a three point game in whcih the Spurs couldn't come up with. The whole game the Hornets tried to pull away, but someone from the Spurs would make that big three or big steal and keep them in the game. The Spurs took a lead in the third, but the Hornets weren't going to lose again to division rival, Ben Gordon stepped up in the fourth making some big threes and earned POG honors. Also having big games were Tim Duncan and Chris Paul, both had double-doubles and Desmond Mason blew up off the bench.

Key Players

Hornets
Ben Gordon 38 points
Chris Paul 13 points--12 assists
Desmond Mason 18 points

Spurs
Tim Duncan 12 points--17 rebounds
Manu Ginobili 26 points
Tony Parker 11 points--11 assists

Chris Paul makes big free throws again for the win.

Hornets (16-10) @ Sonics (15-13)
Final Score: 90-86

The Hornets led by double digits in the first half to let the lead get away and fall behind in the fourth by double digits. It seemed the Sonics were gonna pull away with the win behind Ray Allen's thirty-three points when once again, Ben Gordon stepped up and made some huge threes and Desmond Mason had some huge hits to to give the Hornets a two point lead. The Sonics had gotten the ball and failed to score. Hornets got the ball and Chris Paul was fouled with about ten seconds to go. Paul made both free throws making a two possesion game and basically putting away the Sonics.

Key Players

Hornets
Ben Gordon 28 points
Chris Paul 9 points--10 assists
Desmond Mason 26 points

Sonics
Ray Allen 33 points
Luke Ridnour 15 points--9 assists
Chris Wilcox 21 points--9 rebounds

Hornets toy with Blazers behind Gordon's 77 pts and Paul's triple-double

Hornets (17-10) @ Blazers (15-13)
Final Score: 120-78

It was over before it started. The Hornets jumped to a seventeen to two lead to start the game and it went downhill from there. The Blazers were down by twenty at half and no on ewas in double digits as their score was a measily thirty-three points. On the other side of the court Ben Gordon was lights and looked like the next MJ. Everything was falling for him and Paul's amazing steals and passes helped him get some open shots. If the Hornets play like this the rest of the year there's no telling how far they will go.

Key Players

Hornets
Ben Gordon 77 points
Chris Paul 16 points--18 assists--13 steals
Anderson Varejao 7 rebounds

Blazers
Zach Randolph 8 points--16 rebounds
Dan Dickau 21 points
Jamal Magloire 11 rebounds

The Hornet Buzz

Hornets go on to win 6 more out of last 9 games, now 24-13.

With Ben Gordon in the line-up of the Hornets it is expected they win, he has came in and became the face of the franchise and is leading them throught the NBA on top of the west. Not only is Gordon excelling, but the people around him are playing better such as CP3, Peja, D-Mase, Tyson, Verjao, and pretty much the rest of the line-up. "He is one of those players whose skills and abilities rub off on the others, which is very important since our point guard is in his second year," Coach Byron Scott stated to the media. GM Casey Lee commented on the teams performance with Gordon, "I'm glad to see I made the right move bringing in Gordon, I hope the sucess continues considering I gave up our first round draft pick." Hornet fans don't seem to mind losing that draft pick now that their team is finally winning, but still there are doubters around the nation thinking it's just early season sucess, but is thirty-seven games really that early? Well they have split so far with the Spurs, but in their next game they play the Spurs for the third time this season, if they can pull off another win against the Spurs that will pretty much solidify their place in the West's elite. That game is the matchup of the week when the top two West teams colide, the Hornets are only o.5 games ahead of the Spurs in division and for the lead in the Western Conference.

Hornets recieve a trade offer they can't resist and win 3 in a row

The Dallas Mavericks offer the Hornets a fantastic trade in the mind of GM Casey Lee

The Mavericks had contacted Hornets' GM Casey Lee about swapping players. It was a one for one, Lee was still puzzled that they wanted anothe point guard when the aked for Raul Lopez, but was very pleased to see they were offering Desagana Diop for him. "I couldn't resist, I thought it was a dream. Diop is a fantastic down low player," Lee said of the trade. Diop will now play behind Chandler at the Center position, while Armstrong will now move to backup Power Forward.

Hornets sting the Magic where it hurts, also Tyson Chandler injured!

Magic (16-22) @ Hornets (24-13)
Final Score: 88-104

The Hornets came out and toppled the Magic, everything was flowing gretly for the Hornets and Chris Paul scored a season high and is finally back to his scoring self. He had support too from the rest of the team and despite all efforts from Dwight Howard who pulled down twenty-two rebounds and Jameer Nelson who had a double-double, the Hornets beat the Magic. Also, a great performance from Rasual Butler off the bench as he scored thirteen points. Tyson Chandler mildly sprained his wrist in this game and was still playable, but with the Spurs game coming up and the Hornets destroying the Magic, he played little so he could have all strength possible to play against Spurs.

Key Players

Hornets
Chris Paul 27 points--10 assists--6 steals
Peja Stoyakovic 21 points
Rasual Butler 13 points

Magic
Jameer Nelson 17 points--13 assists
Dwight Howard 9 points--22 rebounds
Darko Milicic 14 points--12 rebounds

Hornets win an amazing defensive game in the last seconds.

Hornets (25-13) @ Spurs (22-15)
Final Score: 88-85

The whole game was back and forth and it was an zmaing game to watch. So far this season these teams had split, so this was to see who could go ahead inthe season series. The Spurs looked great at the begining and basically lead the whole game. The Hornets gained a lead in the beginning of the fourth, but to only see it dindle and eventually lost their lead and were losing by double digits. The core of the Spurs pretty much domnated this game, but with two minutes left in the game the Hornets came roaring back and had the ball down two with only twenty seconds left in the game. The Spurs were expecting Gordon or Peja to recieve the ball, but Paul crossed up Parker and shot a re-adjusted three pointer that went through the rim for three points, giving the Hornets a one point lead with twelve seconds remaining. Parker then dribbled the ball down court, no timeouts remaining for either team, then the incredible happened. Chris Paul stole the ball and sank in the layup with only three seconds remaining and the Spurs had to go the full court and make a three to push overtime, but they had failed and the great battle was over as the two top team sin the west had clashed again and for the second time in a row the Hornets won.

Key Players

Hornets
Chris Paul 29 points--8 assists--6 steals
Peja Stoyakovic 12 points
Ben Gordon 16 points--10 assists

Spurs
Tim Duncan 21 points--17 assists
Tony Parker 19 points--8 assists
Micheal Finley 13 points

Hornets hold Kobe down and defeat the Lakers.

Lakers (20-20) @ Hornets (26-13)
Final Score: 82-93

The Hornets and Lakers were close the whole game till the fourth when Ben Gordon blew up to expand their lead. Really was a pretty queit game and very basic basketball. With the Hornets holding down Kobe Smush Parker really stepped up with twenty-four points, but Gordon had thirty-eight and Paul had another double-double. The Hornets looked great as a team and the bench stepped up proving the Hornets are ready for the big show.

Key Players

Hornets
Chris Paul 15 points--14 assists
Ben Gordon 38 points
Viktor Khyrapa 11 points

Lakers
Smush Parker 24 points--13 assists
Kobe Bryant 15 points--7 assists
Valdimir Radmonovic 11 points--9 rebounds

A good trade, Diop will be very helpful when trying to fill up the paint, plus it will open up more time for D-Mase in the backcourt, I see your giving him time at PG (Y)

The Hornet Buzz

Hornets on a 4 game losing skid.

The Hornets were the team to beat going into the All-Star break, but since all-star break they have only won one of their last five games, whcih was against the Bobcats. The team isn't looking as strong, they had a very bad loss tot he Nest on scoring fifty-eight points, losing by twenty-nine. Not only the team as a whole, but individual numbers are down, Paul is no longer averaging a double-double and his steals average dropped below three. Hornets have gone from top of the west to sixth, going into the all-star break they played good, but not as dominant as they were before and have also slid in the power rankings. Also, the biggest drop is division, they are now in second behind the Spurs. GM Casey Lee commented, "Every team has their slumps, we will be back on top of our game, we will have to just get used to it, it's like a cold, you deal with it until you start feeling better, then you get back into a groove slowly and before you know you are feeling great, we'll win the division, guranteed, I'd be willing to bet my job on it." Pretty strong statement from the GM of a team sitting in sixth in the west and second in division.

Hornets add on 1 more to their losing streak before winning 2 in a row

Gordon and Hornets can't beat former team.

Hornets (35-24) @ Bulls (29-31)
Final Score: 85-92

After tonights loss the Hornets are now on a five game losing skid. They stuck with the Bulls the whole way and actually had a ten point lead, but no one could finish a shot in the second half and the Hornets team crumbled under pressure. The only one hitting for the Hornets was Rasual Butler off the bench who led the team in scoring with twenty-seven. David West put it to his old team that traded him away winding up with a double-double. Ben Wallace pulled down boards as much as the Hornets were missing. After this game people are really wondering if the Hornets are contenders or pretenders, but that's no tthe only question, how about the job security for head coach Byron Scott?

Key Players

Hornets
Rasual Butler 27 points
Chris Paul 11 points--5 assists--5 steals
Ben Gordon 14 points

Bulls
David West 11 points--10 rebounds
Ben Wallace 17 rebounds--7 points--2 blocks
Kirk Hinrich 12 points--7 assists

Hornets snap losing streak behind Paul's second triple-double of the season

Jazz (28-30) @ Hornets (35-25)
Final Score: 73-96

The Hornets finally win a game and in electrifying fashion. The team finally blew up and everyone played great. Especially Paul, who is starting to show flashes of a Pistol Pete. Not only did Paul do great and Gordon finally scored back in the twenty point range, but Tyson Chandler finalyl blew up with an AMAZING defensive showcase with six blocks. The Jazz foundit hard to get some offense going, especially since the Hornets had more than twenty-five steals and more than ten blocks. Coach Byron Scott, "Once again our defense showed up and got us a win, the guys were extatic, this was like winning a playoff game, it's always great to get out of a slump." GM Casey Lee said, "The team looked great, but we gotta keep this up, playoffs are around the corner, we can't afford another skid like we just endured."

Key Players

Hornets
Chris Paul 30 points--13 assists--10 steals
Tyson Chandler 16 points--6 blocks
Ben Gordon 21 points

Jazz
Deron Williams 13 points--8 assists
Jarron Collins 12 rebounds--7 points
Andrei Kirilenko 14 points, 1 block

Hornets make it two in a row with Tyson Chandler's great offensive and defensive showcase

Hornets (36-25) @ Nuggets (26-31)
Final Score: 97-91

Tyson Chandler has finally came out of his shell just in time for playoffs to start. Just two rebounds away from a double-double, Chandler has finally found that offensive touch as well as becoming a defensive monster...NEXT BIG BEN? Who knows all we know is that the Hornets are back and have won two in a row behind Chris Paul who has sixty-one points in the last two games. With only twenty games left this season for the Hornets, it couldn't be a better time to start getting hot, fans are just hoping it keeps up. GM Casey Lee said on the teams play, "This is the team fans got used to at the beginning of the season and that the media was starting to forget, but I think the team finally embroided it into the media's heads that were are contenders and that we are gonna bring it home for the city of New Orleans, but don't forget about my promise New Orleans, we will bring home a division title too.

Key Players

Hornets
Chris Paul 31 points
Tyson Chandler 16 points--8 rebounds--7 steals--2 blocks
Ben Gordon 24 points

Nuggets
Andre Miller 19 points--10 assists
Carmelo Anthony 24 points
Marcus Camby 11 points, 9 rebounds

Hornets comeback to win third in a row behind Chris Paul's third triple-double

Hornets (37-25) @ Suns (38-23)
Final Score: 85-80

The Hornets were behind the whole game trailing by two at halftime and then by six at the end of the third quarter. They were barely staying with the Suns and then in the fourth quarter with only three minutes left the Hornets were down by ten. It looked over, no on could hit for the Hornets, then Chris Paul came in and took over. He said after the game, "I just wanted to come in and get us the win. I went out made sure everyone was envolved and played my ass off." It seemed to work, Chris Paul had his third-triple double of the year and second in the last three games. Byron Scott said of Paul's performance, "He is showing how special he is and what he can do, he is a very important part of are team and his leadership skills have showed up in these last three games. Steve Nash said after the game, "We blew a game that should've been ours, we underestimated the team and took our lead for granted in the last three minutes of the game. I let Paul blow up and I had some key turnovers in this game that costed us a victory." Steve Nash had seven turnovers to be exact, very costly ones at that. The Suns failed to prevail even though they had a field goal percentage of fifty-seven and the Hornets had on a field goal percentage of forty-four. Not only did they out shoot them from inside the arc, but outside the arc too shooting fifty percent from the three while the Hornets shot horribly with a twenty-nine percent. The Suns even outrebounded the Hornets thirty-seven to twenty-two. It seemed the key stat for the Hornets in this game though was turnovers, the Suns had thiry-one to a Hornets fifteen.
