The day Jason Collins scores 18 points in real life is the day I stop posting at NLSC.

Statsically, 20 minute quarters doesn't really appeal to me, but I guess its all about preference when it comes to things like that.

Well I'm actually playing 5 minute quarters. :P

The reason I done this is because Live 07 will be out soon and I wanted to at least finish one season.

Another Close Game

In the first it looked as though the Bulls were in control, but the Nets were lifted by their fans to have a 22-18 lead. Krstic was very good on defense and offense who had 6 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 block. Vince Carter had 7 points as he showed off his dunking skill with some spectacular dunks to the enjoyment of the home fans.

When the second started, the Nets had a totally new line up except for Collins who moved to the Centre position. Robinson, Murray, Wright & McInnis were all given the chance to start off in the second. Wright showed signs of wonderful scoring ability making Gordon look like a rookie, but was taken off mid-way through the second in place of Vince Carter.
Vince Carter picked up a leg injury so Wright was straight back out there to prove himself.
The game was getting tight and the Nets were only leading by 1 point when Chandler made the bucket and was fouled. He missed the three-point play oppurtunity and the score remained 31-30.
The crowd lifted when Cliff Robinson grabbed the offensive rebound, but they lifted even more when he found Wright wide open to hit the three! The score was now 33-31.
We were informed that Vince Carter would be out for the rest of the game and that was a huge blow to the Nets.
Jason Kidd finally came on to the excitement of the fans with under a minute left and did not dissapoint, he slowed down the play and with only 0.8 seconds left he hit a three pointer giving the Nets the lead, 38-31 at the half.

Players of the Half

The Nets came out firing with Wright, the rookie, shooting another three to extend the Nets lead, but Gordon was right there to respond, drawing the foul and getting the bucket. He completed the 3 point play, but the Nets were still infront 34-41.
The Bulls came within two points and Jason Kidd was forced to be replaced because of foul trouble. The Bulls hit the lead because the Nets could not convert on their chances.
At the end of the quarter, the Bulls kept their 1 point lead with it ending 54-53.

The last quarter did not start very well for the Nets with them missing two consecutive buckets and the Bulls scoring on their only possesion. Although Vaughn was the savour, first, it was Murray that blocked Hinrich, and then Vaughn shot two three pointers to give the Nets the lead, 59-56!
The Nets got abit over excited and went for another three pointer but they failed and that lead the Bulls to bring the lead down to 1. Gordon stole the ball, on the next play, from Robinson and that set up Deng for the easy 2 and the lead, 60-59 but Collins was fouled and made the tough basket. He missed the three point play, but the Nets were infront by 1 point.
Once again, the Bulls had a huge surge and they were infront by only 2, but Jason Kidd came back onto the floor and hit an amazing 3 pointer with Deng right in his face to give the lead back to the Nets.
The crowd erupted when Jason Kidd stole the ball off Hinrich and went to the hoop for an easy lay up and increase the Nets lead by 3 making the score 70-67.
The Bulls once again went into the lead by 1 point thanks to Gordon, but Jefferson was fouled at the line and only scored 1, which made the score 71-71. Jefferson surprised the Bulls when he intercepted the pass and slam dunked it over Hinrich and gave the Nets the lead by 2.
Chicago took a timeout right after the Jefferson play with 27 seconds left of the game and it paid off when Gordon sunk the three to give the Bulls the lead 74-73.
The Nets weren't about to give up and Richard Jefferson took the risk and went for a 3 pointer and, it went in! This was surely the end of the Bulls and it was.
The Nets won 76-74.

Injury Report

Vince Carter's injury in the second quarter was examined and he was told that he would not play for the rest of the game. Luckily for the Nets, he wouldn't miss any games, but this injury would effect his performance somewhat.

P.S I forgot to take pictures of the scores so I had to improvise and I also forgot to take a picture of the player of the game. :?

Nets upset the Lakers

The first quarter was full of action, with both teams playing very physical to the enjoyment of the Laker fans. Vince Carter had 10 points and despite being the top scorer for the Nets he was forced to be replaced, because of the injury sustained in the last game, by Wright.
Kobe Bryant was dominating scoring 13 points and hitting a very costly three but that was not enough because Nenad Krstic responded to score 2 points right at the buzzer to extend the Nets lead even further with the score ending 24-19 after the first.

When the second quarter started, it was a little less physical but the Lakers kept making their shots thanks to Kobe Bryant who hit another 3 with pressure. Collins was injured when he tried to block Parker and was replaced by Robinson.
Anotoine Wright showed what he has when he hit a very difficult fadeaway to the excitement of the small population of Nets fans in the arena. Although, that excitement was put on hold as the Lakers continued their hot run and hit 9 straight shots and were in the lead for the first time of the night, 33-30.
We were informed that Jason Collins injury wasn't very serious as it first looked, we were told that he injured his upper body and may be available for later quarters.
When Jefferson hit the three to pull back the Lakers lead by 1, Vince Carter told the coach that he wanted to come back onto the court to help guard Kobe Bryant because he had 20+ points before the second quarter even ended. So he was granted permission to come back on. Jason Kidd was very impressive stealing the ball from Smush Parker before he could he cross half court.
The score ended 44-42 with Kobe scoring on the break to cut down the lead by 2.

Players of the Half

The third started with pressure being put on Kobe forcing him out of bounds and then Jason Kidd hitting a three pointer to extend the lead to 5, with the score being 47-42.
The Nets wanted to show off abit and went for an alley-oop on the break. First it was Jason Kidd to Vince Carter, then it was Jason Kidd (again) to Jefferson, and last but not least it was, yeah, you guessed it Jason Kidd to Krstic! The away fans were screaming so loud that one of they almost got into a brawl with one of the Laker fans.
Nothing much happend for the rest of the quarter except that Kobe Bryant was on fire and there was no stopping him, he finished the third with 36 points, more than half of his teams points.
The score after the third quarter, 66-62.

During the fourth, the Nets took control and it looked as it was going to be a runover with the Rookie Antoine Wright showing glimpes of greatness with 3 pointers under pressure and spectacular dunks. The Nets, at one point, had a 13 point lead and they were just cruising to the finish line.
The Lakers Kobe Bryant tried to motivate his team and everytime he got the ball he looked, and was, dangerous. But it was a little too late for the Lakers this time and the Nets won the game 97-79. Despite the loss, Kobe Bryant got the Player of the Game award with his tremendous effort scoring 48 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 3 steal and he was the only player to make it into double digits.

Player of the Game

Photo's
Krstic knocks down Kwame and hits the layup
Vince Carter slams it over Kobe
Jefferson slams it down

Carter sinks the three with a hand in his face

Injury Report

Jason Collins picked up a knock and was able to continue later in the game. He won't miss any games, but, just like Vince Carter, this injury will affect his performance in the next game.
