"If only I was rich enough to afford that."

Oh well. Nice screenshots. Kobe seems to be lighting it up every night. Give is an 15-20 point performance to level it out.

Wow, this is a great dynasty.

Some small transactions

Lakers trade Arron Mckie and Sasha Vujacic to Atlanta for Tyronne Lue, Donta Smith and a 2nd round pick.

Lakers also signed Jason Caffey for $500,000 for the rest of the season.

A few reasons for these moves: The caffey signing was simple, I needed another big man who could defend and get rebounds. Odom is a great asset, but if he gets into foul trouble too much pressure is on Brian Cook. The hawks deal was basically to unload Mckies contract and I consider Lue an upgrade over Vujacic. Plus its good to see Kobe, George and Lue reunited with Phil Jackson. Ah, another reason for the Caffey signing, Phil Jackson! :proud:.

The Lineup I went with:

C: Mihm
PF: Lamar
SF: George
SG: Kobe
PG: Smush

I haven't really gotten a handle on how to use Walton in this game just yet, so I went with George.

Chicago @ L.A.

This was my first game on superstar (or whatever its called, the fourth hardest setting :)) and immediately you could tell the differences. No fastbreaks on every possesions, no hitting 20 footers with Mihm. The Bulls came out strong as the Lakers were unable to really find their groove with the new lineup, and Kobe picked up 2 quick fouls which didnt help either. Odom scored 11 1st quarter points but the bulls led 30-27. In the second Chicago continued to play well and I continued to just make stupid play after stupid play, and Chicago led by 10 before a 12-2 run capped by a kobe 3 point play tied the game, but the Bulls finished the quarter with a floater by gordon on the buzzer to give them a 60-58 lead.

2nd half

The lakers came out fired up in the second half, with odom scoring on a bank shot, then george getting a steal and dishing to kobe for a dunk and a foul on gordon (which was his fourth) to give the lakers a 3 point lead. With Gordon on the bench, the bulls suprised everyone by going to piatkowski rather than Penny (i forgot to upload his screenshot, ill do so later). Kobe would simply explode for 18 3rd quarter points, and when the bulls resorted to double teaming him, he found players like brian cook and lamar for easy shots around the rim. The lakers outscored the bulls 35-19 in that quarter and took a very healthy 93-79 into the fourth quarter. The Bulls started by scoring the first 4 points of the quarter, so I put kobe back in and Gordon picked up two fouls, one over the back, and another attempting to block a kobe jumper which saw his exit. Once he left the game was essentially over and the final score was L.A. 118, the Bulls 100.

Player of the game
Kobe
52 points (20-25 shooting, 10 assists, 1 rebound, 1 block, amazing.)

Other key players:
Lamar 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals
Devean George 9 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals
Smush 8 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists, 3 steals

Some of the bulls best:
Deng 22 points4 rebounds 5 assists, Hinrich 20 points and 8 assists, and Gordon with 18 points and 2 steals.

I'll post that screenshot of Penny later, but heres a couple from the game that i did upload:

Amazing is right. Looks like it's going to be one hell of a season for Kobe.

Nice move bringing in a former Phil Jackson player in Caffey, too. (Y)

Sonics @ Lakers
Before the game I was tempted to start Tyronne Lue instead of smush just to help contain Ridnour, but I stayed with Smush. Rashard Lewis came out on fire in the first quarter, dropping 14 points and Kobe responded with 12, but the sonics had the lead after 1, 30-26. In the second Lewis continued to pile up points, and at one stage the Sonics led by 15! Kobe and Jim Jackson (i had lamar at pg, kobe at sf, jackson at the 2, and on defense kobe and lamar switched). The gamble worked until Jim Jackson sprained his ankle, and Seattle finished the half up 60 to 48. Kobe had 28 in the first half, and lewis had 31.

2nd Half
The quarter started in slow fashion, with Kobe having to carry everything as per usual. Odom was really struggling from the feild. Lewis was on fire still and kep the sonics afloat. I was able to mount a few solid runs to get the lead down to 3, but Rashard Lewis continued to pile on the points. At the end of the third it was 91 - 79 sonics. Early in the fourth Ray Allen fouled out, which allowed me to put Kobe on Lewis and that slowed him down and I was able to chip away, slowly but surely, as Kobe kept attacking, kept getting to the line. But in the end the offensive rebounding killed any chances I had, and seattle walked away with the win, 123 to 111.

Player of the Game
Rashard Lewis
56 points (including 10 of 15 3 pointers), 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.

Kobe deserves a huge mention here as well.
66 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists

What a duel! I can't wait for the next seattle game.

Other Notable stats:
Ridnour 25 points, 17 assists, 3 steals
Allen 20 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists
Lamar Odom 18 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
Jim Jackson 8 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal, 1 block

And to pay homage to Jim Jacksons first notable game, he gets a screenshot of him:

Sounds like an awesome shootout, sorry you had to be on the losing side. No shame in it though when you have someone drop 10/15 from downtown on you though. Sure makes Allen's 20 look tame. What was Kobe's FG% on his 66 points?

Kobe shot around 22 of 38 from what i remember.

Transactions
Lakers sign Eddie Robinson to a one year deal at the minimum. I got him becuase he is somewhat young, at the minimum wont cost me anything, and he could turn out to be insurance for devean george if he leaves at the end of the season.

Nets @ Lakers
Entering the game the lineups now showed the current season stats, and with it it showed kobes 45 ppg average! I'm sure if its coincidence, but to start to quarter, the nets swarmed kobe in a way the cpu only does when ive run 10 or so straight points with him. As a result, he started 1 of 5 from the feild and only had 5 points at the end of one. New jersey dominated with Jefferson but it didnt take me long to exploit Lamar inside against Cliff robinson. With the quarter running down, Walton threw up a 65 footer that went in (i have attempted to upload a video, not sure how it will play though). The score after one was 31 all. Continueing with that surge walton played brilliantly to start the second, until Mihm injured his hip on a dunk. Lamar was playing fanatastic and kobe was playing well as a distributer. At half time I was up 62- 53. Odom was 7 from 7 from the feild and had 17 points to be the first non kobe palyer to get a player of the half award for the lakers.

2nd Half
To start the half the lakers were in cruise control, with Smush and kobe distributing, and cook and odom finishing strong against a very week interior defense. Jefferson was keeping the Nets close but that didnt stop the lakers taking a 91 to 79 lead into the final quater. In the final quarter though, the nets showed why they are so good. I rested Kobe and Lamar a little too early and Kidd and Jefferson came storming back by causing turnover after turnover on Lue. Due to my Phil Jackson esque stubborness, it wasnt until the lead had dwindled down to 3 did i call a timeout. Thankfully though, kobe was ready to dominate. He started by finding cook for a dunk, and odom for a 3 point play, but new jersey continued to stay close behind carter and jefferson. They actually tied the game up before i went into complete kobe mode. Kobe finished with 18 in the fourth to bail me out, and the lakers won 121-115

Player of the Game
Despite kobes heroics, it has to be:

Lamar Odom
34 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists

Other Laker standouts:
Kobe, 34 points 3 rebounds 10 assists and a steal and a block
Brian Cook, 16 points 3 rebounds 2 assists
Luke Walton 11 points (all in the first half) 5 rebounds
Smush 4 points, 2 rebounds 9 assists 2 steals
George 10 points 1 rebound 2 assists

Net Standouts:
Jefferson 31 points 5 rebound 7 assists
Carter 21 points 2 rebounds 10 assists 3 steals 1 block
Kidd 17 points 2 rebounds 10 assists 1 steal 1 block

Walton buzzer beater
Another video! This is the end of the 3rd quarter.

These videos are in mp4, lets hope they work :).

And some screenshots as well:
