Cleveland @ Detroit; Preseason Game
(AP) Auburn Hills, MI - With a strong performance by their starting five, the Pistons defeat the rebuilding Cavaliers; 84-78. Tayshaun Prince contributed 29 points, 7 rebounds, and dished out 2 assists while "Mr. Bigshot" Chauncey Billups made 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Rasheed Wallace dominated the boards with 12 rebounds but was held to 5 points. On the other hand, Cleveland, who was without newly-acquired Dwight Howard (due to sprained ankle), led all throughout the game but didn't have the killer instinct to pull off a W. With 3 minutes left remaining, LeBron James fouled out. The pressure was on Emeka Okafor and Drew Gooden who started in place for the injured Howard. During the final seconds, Okafor had the chance to tie but missed the lay-up. "I was really nervous. Ben was behind me and Sheed was upfront. I didn't know what to do. It was my fault.", said the second-year star. Gooden had a pretty good game scoring 14 points and nabbing 12 rebounds. Ricky Davis' re-debut had him 11 points and 5 rebounds while LeBron James had a typical 20-6-6 night.
[BoxScore] (Unavailable)

Ben Wallace, who had 9pts and 9rebs, dunks over Eric Snow during the opening seconds of the game while Davis dances after a windmill jam.

(Left) Chauncey Billups blows past Damon Jones for an easy lay-up. (Right) Everybody scours for a rebound.

(Left) Hamilton was held to 8 points by James. (Right) Pistons celebrate going to the dugout with a win 84-78.

You should make Gooden do lay-ups in practice until he can't lift his arms anymore...
Anyways, hope you have more luck when the regular season starts

We are gonna need a Practice Court for our Training Camp so until that is done, the season won't start.

League Trade; November 2005
New York Knicks send:

SF Trevor Ariza
SF Penny Hardaway
Orlando Magic send:
PG Steve Francis
(Orlando Sentinel) Orlando, FL - The Orlando Magic have acquired forward Trevor Ariza and the expiring contract of guard Anfernee Hardaway from New York in exchange for guard Steve Francis, Assistant General Manager Otis Smith announced today. In addition, the team has waived forward Bo Outlaw.
“As an organization, you always look for ways to improve your team, both presently and in the future,” said Smith. “The moves we have made today and last week (Darko Milicic and Carlos Arroyo from Detroit) continue to build a solid foundation around our core players, such as Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson. In addition, this particular deal has allowed us to gain significant salary cap flexibility in the future.”
“The moves we have made during the last few days are geared to grow and improve our team,” said Magic Head Coach Brian Hill. “Trevor (Ariza) is a young, athletic small forward, who will fit in defensively with what we are trying to accomplish. I genuinely like Steve as a person and wish him nothing but the best.”
