Johnson unhappy in Denver?
by Mike Nugget, Denver Post Sports Writer
Rumours around the Denver Nuggets have been telling Joe Johnson is unhappy with his role in the team. We caught up with Joe to hear his side of the story.
Mike Nugget: Joe, what's your situation right now? Are you happy in Denver?
Joe Johnson: Well, yes and no. I can tell you I'm happy living in Denver and I'm playing for maybe the best team in the league. I really feel we can win the championship this year. So, I'm satisfied with many things. But there are team goals and personal goals. The team is doing very well, but I feel as though I'm not making the best use of my talents here.
MN: How does the rest of the team feel about the situation?
JJ: I've talked to every one of them and they understand my situation. However, they are also telling me how important I am to the team. I'm happy that the guys feel I'm playing an important role, but I can be much more than a role player in a team.
MN: Will you be staying in Denver, and if so, for how long?
JJ: I've talked to the GM a couple of times and he assured me that the issue has been looked at, but they want to keep me for this season. I am on year one of my three-year-deal but I can't promise that I'll be seeing it out with the team. I'll be with the team until summer, and after that we'll see.
