1st Round Pick Kobe Bryant
Drafted Number 3
Kobe will bring his undoubted talent to the new franchise Bobcats. He can score, defend and do pretty much everything else as well. Will be the franchise face for the team and the go to guy.
2nd Round Pick Amare Stoudemire
Drafted Number 33
The Bobcats were surprised to see Amare slip to 33, but were more than happy to pick him. He has youth and talent in bundles, and his strength and size will cause many in the league a lot of problems. He will be leading rebounder no doubt.
3rd Round Pick Chauncey Billups
Drafted Number 63
One of the best all-round point guards in the game, Billups brings with him a sweet shot, excellent defensive skills and a basketball brain to match the best of them.
4th Round Pick Joe Johnson
Drafted Number 93
Joe Johnson brings to the Cats one of the sweetest shots in the game, youth and can alternate between SG and SF which will be very helpful to the team. He can also rebound and dish the rock as well.
5th Round Pick Dale Davis
Drafted Number 123
Bobcats needed a center, and decided on drafting Dale Davis. Dale brings over 11 years of experience, on his day can be a rebounding demon and is also a good shot blocker. A nice addition to the team.
6th Round Pick Kenny Thomas
Drafted Number 153
Kenny was one of only a handful of players to average a double double a few seasons ago. He brings to Charlotte rebounding, blocking and a nice mid-range jumper. Will be 6th man for Bobcats.
7th Round Pick Andre Igoudala
Drafted Number 183
Iggy was the first rookies the Bobcats decided to pick in the draft. He brings with him lots of power as many a college player will know! He can also alternate between guard and forward which like Joe Johnson is an added bonus.
8th Round Pick Damon Jones
Drafted 213
Damon was disappointed not to be in the top 200, but the Bobcats decided to pick him at 213. Jones has a lovely 3 point shot, can dish the rock and will be the backup to Billups at point guard.
9th Round Pick Josh Smith
Drafted 243
Josh is another rookie to join the Cats. Josh is another youngster that brings with him explosive power and is another player who can alternate between guard and forward.
10th Round Pick Dajuan Wagner
Drafted 273
Wagner is certainly a project in progress. He was a talented highschool player before moving to the NBA but since then has been labelled lazy, arrogant and a ball hog. The Bobcats know he has talent and are willing to take a gamble on him.
11th Round Pick David Harrison
Drafted 303
Harrison is another rookie drafted into the team. He is another work in progress but he is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker and is building his strength all the time. He will be backing up Dale Davis.
12th Round Pick Anderson Varejao
Drafted 333
The Brazilian was the final player to be drafted by the Bobcats. His hair isnt the only thing he needs to work on but he has promise and at times can be a rebounding machine. He will get better in future but may not see many minutes this season at least.
