If you can't beat the AI you can mess with the sliders... And you have to see that basket ball is not a game where you have to or even can keep the opposition from scoring all the time... The object of the game is to score more than the opposition. Not defend the opposition to zero points and get a single basket and win... This is not soccer, this is not hockey... This is basket ball... The scores end up in the nineties most of the time...
The guys playing the game are there because they can do incredible stuff with the ball and sometimes do score against all odds... That's what they do. Who would have thought that Derek Fisher would score in 0.4 seconds to win a game for Lakers last spring. 12 down and under a minute to go, who would have thought that you could still win the game in regulation time before TMac did what he did (I think the single most incredible feat in basket ball history). All those last second shots... Some fall some don't...
I have to give you that that the AI does seem to score a little too often from some tough spots, but you can do it too... I've been hitting the fadeaway jumper with one guy to almost anyones face... A generated rookie in second season with fied goal rating of 89. You can too hit the hard shots...
Live 2005 is basically the first EVER NBA Live game that offers any challenge after a few games, so you are just throwing in the towel the first instance you see yourself in trouble... Frustration is good, just think how much better it will be when you eventually start to win the games...
Basketball in real life is still about putting the ball through the hoop and these guys are the best in world at making it so. It's no wonder they are difficult to stop... They are the best, the toughest, the strongest and the most athletic guys out there. Embrace the game or just throw in the towel when you can't win 80 games in a season with the worst team in the league.
Challenge... I love it... Been waiting for this since NBA Live 95...
Totally with you there... Using the sliders you can make this EXACTLY the gane you want it to be. Want realism? Got It. Want fun? Got It. Want impossible challenges? Got 'em.
I agree it takes long hours to figure the sliders out, but in the end it's worth it. So friend, I understand your frustration, but competitiveness(albeit in a video game) requires a nose-to-the-grindstone approach...
