D-Wade and the Lakers apparently have a mutual interest.

Just wondering - would Kobe move to small forward, or would D-Wade play the point?

Or might Wade even come off the bench?

Would Kobe pass the ball?

Wade being turned to spot up shooter like Nash was? Well, if he's after the cash...

I think Kobe would want D-Flop to be a spot up passer.

What could this mean?

A fam member wearing another's team shirt before free agency. He probably rooted for the Cavs in the Finals, but The Final's over.

Means Wade wants to get paid.

We've had the Lakers and Cavs, next up: New York and Chicago.

Can the Cavs pay him though? They have 3 max's already.

Waiting for the Mavs to join the mix since there are rumors that Ellis is opting out. lol

It isn't even about who can and can't pay him, it's about him and his camp trying to force Riley's hand.

And of course one of the Texas teams will be in the mix.

It is about who can and can't pay him because it changes his market value. The Lakers are in the mix because they can afford Wade and also possibly Dragic as well if clears some cap space. The Lakers still wouldn't be throwing out the future since Wade's contract is going to come willingly at a short term 3 year deal. Imagine Okafor and Randle panning out to be the stars that they are supposed to become, the Lakers could emerge as a playoffs team right away possibly from year 1 or 2.

Wade's got reasons to be playing hardball at this stage, even if that meant leaving. Trust in Heat organization is now damaged. Date to decide 'opting in/out' is nearing, Wade means business this time. The Heat always wanted to take wait and see approach but Wade wants the instant commitment.

Got ya (Y) But I thought this was different because it's a family member now that is involved compared to the other rumors with their "sources", if you know what I mean. I'm also thinking if no team's willing to pay him the amount that he wants, he may just join Bron in Cavs and get another ring.

It's hard to imagine Wade going to the Cavs. He'd have to give up 16 million dollars which is guaranteed if opts in. On the other end of the table, the Cavs have only about 3-4 million dollars to offer.

Arison is a penny pincher, Riley's a marketeer. Problem is that they sold their players on the idea of 'sacrifice', 'loyalty', and 'Family'. They can talk the talk but can they walk the walk?

Then again, he may figure that if he's going to sacrifice money to win, he might as well be on a team with a shot.

It would be surprising if he left that much money on the table though, especially seeing as being underpaid appears to be a sore point for him.

There doesn't seem to be any buzz about where they're going, nor any talk of major rifts with their current teams. In lieu of that, the spotlight would appear to be Wade's.
