Was thinking (whilst racking up my 4th 30+ game for Rachard Lewis in Live 2004), that an interesting spin on trades would be if you have a player that is averaging some big numbers (like 30ppg, or 13 rpg or 4 bpg) that other teams would show interest in that player because of his stats.
So if you have a guy rated 75 overall and he is averaging 30ppg and 12rpg, then other teams might be willing to trade a player who is rated 78 overall, and averaging lower numbers.
But then when I though about it a little more, this would be open to "stats padding". For example say you're playing as the Lakers. You have Bryant rated 95, and (example) Kareem Rush rated 60. Now if you padded Rush's stats so he was averaging 30ppg then you could perhaps offload him for someone rated 65.
I was then trying to think of ways to prevent those kind of situations and thought that when you are trying to trade a player with a low overall rating and high stats they CPU team would also take into consideration the stats of the rest of the team.
In the above example the CPU team would take into account what Bryant/Odom/Divac/Butler etc. were all averaging and decide whether Rushs stats were being padded.
I know that a feature/logic like that would take a huge effort to implement, but I think it would be a nice spin on trades, so that if you have a low rated guy who is playing really well, that would generate some interest from other teams.
Good or bad idea?
