Dont you hate when its the simple stuff.
Disciple wrote:I thought I was going to be using v2 color, but wound up digging v3. The color looks really good on player close ups. I do find it to be a bit too much during normal play where as v3 seems easier on the eyes. Anyone pairing this up with a enb?
goldenstate77 wrote:also, for those with nvidia cards, i created a profile for Nba2k15 in nvidia control panel under "manage 3d settings". don't know why this would matter, but just sharing everything I've done just in case...
i changed:
1) power management mode to "prefer maximum performance"
2) texture filtering-quality to "high quality"

Oyaji wrote:Thanks Golden State for all the hard work on making this and in particular the troubleshooting efforts you put forth. Big thanks to MLP as well for figuring out how to get this working on 8.1. I was pretty disappointed with the graphics on the PC even at max settings. They look much, much better with this bad boy.
Disciple wrote:I like the aspect the fog plays in offering greater contrast and color pop in cut scenes etc. Maybe if you decide to create some more sweetFX sets you could make one with similar colors/shades as v3, but carrying over some of the haze. If not I understand because I'm sure you make these for you and I am just happy you chose to share.

hmm. and that only happens with the sweetfx+efx installed? i've never seen this so I'm not sure. do you have an antivirus program installed or firewall beside windows defender?

yea, it only happens with sweetfx+efx installed, no I dont have any 3rd party antivirus program installed.

did some google searching, and looks like other folks have experienced this with different games, although i haven't found a definitive solution. here are some possible causes, according to the internet (so hold your breath)
1) run out of video memory
2) gpu overheating
3) firewall issues
4) driver issue
possible solutions:
1) completely remove and re-install video driver (use this guide) http://www.overclock.net/t/1150443/how- ... ivers/0_30
2) re-install game
3) make sure the video card is clear of dust (open and clean at your own risk of course)
4) manually create firewall exceptions (windows firewall)
5) only use drivers from your laptop manufacturers website (looks like Toshiba owners have had this same issue, if that's your manufacturer)
6) try starting game as admin
question--have you overclocked your processor and/or video card?
I would try 4 and 6 together, as a first step.
also, go into efx.ini (in game directory) and at bottom of the page, set
log_level to 4 (from 3)
and log_debug to true (from false).
and next time the crash happens, pm the more detailed log to me. thanks and good luck.
goldenstate77 wrote:this isn't an official release, but since i'm traveling most of next week for work, i thought i'd put out a quick unofficial release with fog. This is essentially V3 with default fog "turned back on".
the reason I don't want this to be my "official" fog version release is that there are other sweetfx settings and (combination of settings) that produce fog like effects i want to play around with first. in fact, i messed around for just a bit and found a combination of settings that actually produces a different fog, more like haze, that i really liked but need to perfect. So this in the meantime:
