First, you are REALLY overrating Kawhi. Put Kawhi on the Knicks last year with the same roster and same coach. The Knicks don't suddenly become a playoff team. In fact, they would lose a lot more games than they did with Melo.
Sure, Kawhi is better defensively than Melo but Melo is better in nearly every other aspect. He is a much better shooter, better rebounder, and averaged more assists.
Kawhi's rating is at max an 85. Averaging 13 points a season doesn't get you a 90 rating when only 4 players have 90+ ratings.
Second, Dwyane Wade is old. He disappeared in the playoffs last season and doesn't have the athleticism he had in his prime. Max for him is probably mid-high 80s.
Third, CP3 is the best PG in the league. Tony Parker is great, probably the 2nd best, but if CP3 doesn't get a rating above a 90 then TP doesn't either.
And finally, Paul George. He was pretty mediocre this season. Definitely not better than Melo. IMO his rating should be about the same as Kawhi's, maybe slightly higher.

I made that ridiculous - according to your infinte wisdom - claim as you said. I also made another ridiculous claim, that it had to be one of the Spurs for certain, since they will be ranked no 1 team.
Of course if I had said Duncan, instead of Kawhi, you'd have still called it ridiculous.
I still think that Kawhi should have the 90 and not Duncan, based on the way they play most recently, but I guess 2K took into consideration lifetime achievements as well.

They have said that there are only 4 players rated over 90.
Lol, It's the title of the thread you are reading right now.

He's great on both offense and defense.
Big men were said to get a rating boost to keep them up to par with other classes.
He's not exactly prone to injuries
(thanks to Pop no doubt) and only concern is age.
I said that Kawhi being 90+ is ridiculous
, but not that spurs wouldn't get one 90+ player.
Kawhi is a good starter, but he just had his week of fame. That's it. He's nowhere near a 90+ rating.
KD and LBJ are 90+, there's no discussion about that. Melo might mike the list, same goes for CP3, maybe Howard (he might get rating boost in the new system). Rose might get reevaulated during fiba tournament. I don't think Harden is gonna make it and Kobe is getting too old and fragile. Spurs' stars aren't getting younger either. Other than that not many names come to my mind.
I did not think of Duncan right away, but I am not that surprised either.
