A serious note, which I don't do much these days.

LeBron is the best player in the league, BY FAR. No one even comes close. He is as equal both on defense and offense. There is no league player in the league that can play 1-5 so efficiently. Yes, Durant had a better season statistically, but overall when showtime arrives Durant is still very small compared to LeBron.

But LeBron himself didn't have any intention of winning the MVP this year, because he is going for the big shit. And if he gave his all in the regular season, it would be a tired LeBron & One-Knee Wade-- which wouldn't be able to get Miami past TOUGH BIG PACERS.

Glory time for Durant and blah blah, but that finals series will determine who is have the throne in NBA.

Unsurprising, but deserving winners on both counts. I'm glad that Durant will be in uniform to get his MVP trophy; that was a tough press conference for Dirk Nowitzki a few years back.

To be fair, he didn't suffer that much a drop after that, everyone just overhyped it. KD's scoring streak didn't help it either.

Well if you put it that way, yes. Given the center talent level he would be better than most. Still, he never played center and I believe it's better it stays that way.

Astute observation. That's what happens when you have 2 NBA players on the roster.

Well-deserved award for MCW. He's turned out to be better than I expected, probably better than anyone expected. If he can develop a reliable jumper, at least from mid-range and improves his finishing at the rim to go along with it, he can be an All-Star for many years.

Agreed, well-deserved. He didn't shoot the ball well but as I noted before, his numbers in that department weren't that different to LeBron's in his rookie season. Like LeBron, Carter-Williams had some respectable numbers across the board as well. That's where the comparisons end obviously, but from both a historical perspective and in comparison to his peers, he's a worthy ROY winner.

That line from the NBA.com article is amusing in its refreshing honesty, though.

It's honest. They had a tough, tough season. They won those first three games, then very quickly came back to Earth. Maybe it could've been worded a little more diplomatically, but there's no point in hiding the fact that the Sixers weren't good this season, with Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams providing some rare bright moments for them.
