A serious note, which I don't do much these days.

LeBron is the best player in the league, BY FAR. No one even comes close. He is as equal both on defense and offense. There is no league player in the league that can play 1-5 so efficiently. Yes, Durant had a better season statistically, but overall when showtime arrives Durant is still very small compared to LeBron.

But LeBron himself didn't have any intention of winning the MVP this year, because he is going for the big shit. And if he gave his all in the regular season, it would be a tired LeBron & One-Knee Wade-- which wouldn't be able to get Miami past TOUGH BIG PACERS.

Glory time for Durant and blah blah, but that finals series will determine who is have the throne in NBA.

After a season where Durant was clearly better, I think you shouldn't say this that confidently(not saying he isn't the best)

He is as equal both on defense and offense.

Defense not so this season. But I'm pretty confident he'll be better in the playoffs.

Yes, Durant had a better season statistically,

Statistically? No he just had a better year.

My point is Durant currently is the better player, this past year he has been. It's now up to LBJ to turn it up in the playoffs and reclaim his crown.

But LeBron himself didn't have any intention of winning the MVP this year

And you know that how exactly?

because he is going for the big shit.

Isn't that the goal of every team in the playoffs?. So Durant who is having a great year is simply going for the MVP and not the championship by your logic?

which wouldn't be able to get Miami past TOUGH BIG PACERS.

Like they couldn't last year.

Unsurprising, but deserving winners on both counts. I'm glad that Durant will be in uniform to get his MVP trophy; that was a tough press conference for Dirk Nowitzki a few years back.

I doubt Lebron can play center efficiently.
He's no HIV carrier.

And yet no one seems to comprenhend the point he never really played the center position(except that one short stretch against the Blazers), but they keep believing he could.

I will ask the most unbiased dude here...hey Andrew, who is the current best player in the NBA and has been for the past couple of years? BY FAR?

I like this strategy of mandich to break sentences into fuckmany pieces and quote just to make them seem silly.

mandich wrote:Statistically? No he just had a better year.

The supporting cast of OKC is better than Miami. Especially when Westbrook is out, they are the best team in the league. Yes, Durant has been better but the relevance of that is still in question.

And you know that how exactly?

The fact that he just stopped playing after the 61pt game, pretty much shows it. And if you can't understand by the body-language of a player of when he is holding back, I can't explain it to you.

Isn't that the goal of every team in the playoffs?

I'm sure deep down inside, Bobcats, Wizards, Raptors and a couple of other teams didn't go into the playoffs believing that they will be the NBA champions.

So Durant who is having a great year is simply going for the MVP and not the championship by your logic?
No. He is going for both. Fatigue is the key factor here.

Like they couldn't last year.

A lot has changed. Paces now have SUPERSTAR PG24 and Miami don't have any chemistry boosting new addition and Wade doesn't have knees. Oden doesn't have legs and brains.

shadowgrin wrote:I doubt Lebron can play center efficiently.

Of course he won't be #1 center in the league, but better than most other Centers, no doubt.

Oh stop taking my posts so personal, where did I try to make you look silly?

The fact that he just stopped playing after the 61pt game, pretty much shows it.

To be fair, he didn't suffer that much a drop after that, everyone just overhyped it. KD's scoring streak didn't help it either.

I'm sure deep down inside, Bobcats, Wizards, Raptors and a couple of other teams didn't go into the playoffs believing that they will be the NBA champions.

But their goal is to go as deep as possible(no homo). Am I right?

Of course he won't be #1 center in the league, but better than most other Centers, no doubt.

Well if you put it that way, yes. Given the center talent level he would be better than most. Still, he never played center and I believe it's better it stays that way.

Despite the performance of their dynamic guard, the Sixers were awful this season.

Surprising honesty from nba.com

Astute observation. That's what happens when you have 2 NBA players on the roster.

Well-deserved award for MCW. He's turned out to be better than I expected, probably better than anyone expected. If he can develop a reliable jumper, at least from mid-range and improves his finishing at the rim to go along with it, he can be an All-Star for many years.

Re: Obligatory 2013-14 End of Season NBA Awards Thread

Tue May 06, 2014 10:55 am

Agreed, well-deserved. He didn't shoot the ball well but as I noted before, his numbers in that department weren't that different to LeBron's in his rookie season. Like LeBron, Carter-Williams had some respectable numbers across the board as well. That's where the comparisons end obviously, but from both a historical perspective and in comparison to his peers, he's a worthy ROY winner.

That line from the NBA.com article is amusing in its refreshing honesty, though.

It's honest. They had a tough, tough season. They won those first three games, then very quickly came back to Earth. Maybe it could've been worded a little more diplomatically, but there's no point in hiding the fact that the Sixers weren't good this season, with Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams providing some rare bright moments for them.
