Community Help Needed! The Present but Future of PC Modding

Sun Nov 17, 2013 4:02 am

Ok as you all may know, Erixxxx found a way inside Hex Editor to increase the size of the textures that we use in game. That is a huge step for use to making 2k look great on pc. One more thing that we need to do is to find the format of the models with the header inside of the .iff file. Once we do that we can double or triple the amount of vertices on the model making it like next gen. We can have more control over what we can do instead of being limited. Also with my technique of making textures/Headshapes, anyone can provide me with 3 images of a players face in-game on next gen (Front,Side,Back). (Non Smiling) i can replicate it on pc. Once i find out where the arm models are i can make some real arm textures for players also. Tell all of the people you know that can help us with this project. I cant find it because i suck at hex and programming lol. So Sharing info in this thread will allow other people to come together to unlock the full power of pc modding. :D

Bro I don't want to kill this thread but....2k uses skinned 3D meshes even if you can find the way to use Hi res meshes you won't be able to map them into the skeletons (used for animations) just to clarify your post...

I wont have to map them to the skeleton. In blender you can select all the points and just double the amount of vertices. But when using the program to import back into the iff error comes up says the import file doesn't match the amount of vertices that it read the first time. Same as the the textures. IF we find inside the iff the vertices count we can increase it to what we need so that when importing the error doesn't come up.

I honestly feel like it's a waste of time and effort working on last gen, it's just my opinion but you modders and editors need to save all this genius and put all your effort into 2K15 next gen when it comes out for the PC, so you can make the game look absolutely amazing.... as great as it looks and plays on PS4, I really REALLY look forward to you guys getting to work on the PC version....

also especially because the next gen version will weed out the copy catter and overall shitty modders who are clogging up the scene with garbage.... there's no way they will be able to get away with subpar work on the next gen version, it will stick out like a sore thumb... this leaves only the dopest modders able to mess with the game

There is no guarantee that we will get a pc game next year and even if we do it may not be a next gen port

you have to map it back every vertices must be assigned to a skeleton bro.....it's the basic of "skinned meshes animation"...so sorry really

Amen. The worst presumption anyone can make is that 2K15 will a) be released for PC, and b) be a next gen port. God willing, but far from a guarantee.

As long as there'll be a XBOX 360 / PS3 game they can also release the game for PC....dunno about next gen version for PC....we can only pray for this :D

Re: Community Help Needed! The Present but Future of PC Modd

Pray hard because what is most likely to happen next year (assuming PC even gets a game) is that it continues to be like it's been. A PS2 clone that only the PC gets. PC will never get the latest gen version of 2K ever.

The PC has been getting the latest gen release of NBA 2K right up until this year, when a new generation of consoles arrived. It's just missing a couple of features that have microtransaction integration.

I think better arm textures and leg textures would help also. I've seen so many great cf's but the arm textures just look so generic when you apply HD cyberface textures

That is a pretty ridiculous statement. What if there are people out there who have the skills and experience but have to dig through thousands of posts just to get to the information. Its not like you have to use the mods and its a hell of a lot easier to weed out a crappy mod than spend the time doing it. It doesn't hurt to have a modder start on something for practice
