also, does this change play nice with SweetFX?

I'm using version 1.9.7.2 Nvidia inspector. I also have both ENB and Sweet FX installed with zero FPS loss.
deluxxe wrote:so the inspector is working for me (i can use it to set vsync and AA, for example), but ambient occlusion refuses to work.
Perhaps it is something with win 8 and the 700 series nvidia cards.
I'm gonna play around some more and will report back here if i figure out a solution.
edit: bah. giving up for now. I've tried pretty much every Ambient Occlusion compatibility setting in the list. Nothing adds self shadows. Some are definitely doing something though, as setting it to Guild Wars 2, messes up the graphics in the UI and cuts my framerate in half... but no shadows![]()
Might try rolling back to an older driver.
cheers

Try entering nvidia control panel. Go to global settings. Enable Ambient Occlusion to whatever you wish - quality, for example and then make sure you have created separate profile for 2k14 and re-check whether settings in inspector have been saved. I coundn't get it working before I did that (nvidia inspector settings would not override the disabled Ambient Occlusion within nvidia control panel!). See it working -> viewtopic.php?f=151&t=92701&p=1657432&sid=f990c38fe9990971bc0f8f19b8419f5a#p1657432
Which nvidia video card from 700 series you actually have?
jay-r wrote:Which SSAO profile in NVIDIA inspector you find the best besides Diablo 3 ? I find DIablo 3 a bit too aggressive on the shadows in NBA 2K14. So far I am stuck on Aion which is the least aggressive and gives the realest look!
el badman wrote:So I tried this with my 660Ti, and I can't really seem to see a difference in-game (nothing as major as what's shown in the screens above), but my fps did go from the 110's to the 80's...I guess I'll try different quality settings for ambient occlusion, or different profiles maybe, because right now it looks exactly the same to me.
EDIT: tried with AO set to "High Quality" instead of "Quality", reduced my fps a little further (high 70's, low 80's), but still no visual difference and certainly no self shadowing here...

because if you've ever been to a real game you'd know with the insane amount of lights centered on the floor player shadows are non existent, there are literally lights hitting the floor from every single angle making shadows impossible.... also some people tend to think player reflections on the floor also constitute as shadows...
