Rose has not time to think about that. He is completely focused on recovering from an injury he'd already recovered from...
Mon May 06, 2013 2:20 am
^ His recovery is not something he or doctors can do something about it now, it's in God's hands now.
That move by Nate Robinson at 3:43 in that Nets vid, travelling? (double dribble)
Stackhouse is no Marvin Gaye but decent rendition of that evil oppressive war mongering nation's anthem.

You call it underperforming I call it choking.

the other night it was about "muscle memory". now he has decided to not come back at all. whatever it is, he's a bad liar. my question is if the decision to not come back at all came before the season started? (or even before he made those stupid adidas return commercials)
Mon May 06, 2013 2:30 am
afaik he wasn't even expected to come back this season before the season even started but he wanted to do a LeBron by being an attention whore by teasing fans, joining the team in pregame shootarounds.
So the fans were teased and expected something, when their expectation didn't happen then the hating started.

He is the same guy that cheated in his SATs by letting someone take it for him and then denying he had no idea that it's wrong to do so because some people told him so.

Phew. I was expecting the Nets to take care of business at home when the Bulls couldn't close out the series in Chicago in Game 6, but I'm happy to be proven wrong. The series against the Heat isn't going to be kind to them, but getting through to the second round through all the adversity this season is something they can be proud of.

I don't understand D-Rose haters. If you're a Bulls fan like me then you should hope he sits out until he's fully healed. As much as I want to see him come back strong against the Heat it would be better for the future of the team if he sits out the entire playoffs, gets a full off season, a full training camp, a full preseason and hopefully a full season instead of jumping into the playoffs against the best team in basketball. I don't want to see another Penny Hardaway story, another Grant Hills story. If you're not a Bulls fan then what the fuck's it to you when he comes back?

A sports fan.

So if you aren't a Bulls fan, can't talk about Rose? You impotents better stop talking about LeBRICK and WADE then.
On the topic, I don't mind what Rose is doing. I don't think he's being selfish at all. He's being careful and is only a smart thing. Shows he's young but not stupid. Rose has a future to protect.

I agree that it's silly the way some Bulls fans are turning on him, though Woj makes a
good point about the way he's handled the situation. I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt and suggest that he simply doesn't want to make such a negative declaration, but officially ruling out a return would've been a better move. That was always going to be a possibility given the timing and nature of the injury and subsequent surgery, so it's not unreasonable. It's not Rose's fault that fans build up certain expectations based on this and that, but at this point he probably should've come forward and put an end to the speculation.

You also have Chuck and Shaq talking about how he should have came back at the All-Star break regularly as well.
People are realizing that this Bulls team is legit and could contend in these playoffs with Rose. Which they were leary of before, even as the team performed as expected during the season. Beat up and ailing without Deng or Hinrich with Noah also hurting they outlasted a hyped up Nets team.
People think Rose is letting his teammates down, and I forget who mentioned it but he may very well be afraid about reinjuring himself severely in the playoffs again.
And it's a fine opportunity to smack around a Bulls management that maybe could have spent a little more and put a legit contender on the table that would encourage Rose to make a return. Especially since some people tried to float rumors the team told him not to come back.

Maybe it's more the Bulls fault as it is his, but they just should have ruled him out for the 2012/13 season including the post-season. If he is injured and not able to play, so be it. Tough luck for him and for the team. But please no more talking about "muscle memory", lost faith, feeling uncomfortable and so on. He is injured and needs time for rehabbing. period. All those back and forth raised false expectations of him playing. In the end he could end up as LeBron light (not leaving but defecting his team in the post-season).
That's what I'm about.

I didn't say they can't talk about Rose, I'm asking why they're getting so angry. They're not paying part of his salary like me and other Bulls fans are, they don't care if we win or lose. If you're a fan of another team then you should be happy he's out. And please don't call me an impotent...you cocksucker.

I blame the Bulls organization and Rose's brother hasn't helped matters. Reinsdorf and company have always been slimy operators. They pulled the same crap with Luol Deng back in 2009. They pressured him into coming back and turned the fans against him even though his knee was still bothering him. Deng did the right thing for himself and the orgainztion by sitting out and he's been an iron man ever since, logging an incredible amount of minutes year after year.

Rose is back in that same song & dance... he "has a chance", "if he's ready"

That's what I'm about.
The announcement that he was cleared to play was definitely a mistake and didn't help the situation if he truly wasn't ready to return - mentally or physically - which obviously appears to be the case.

Both sides have definitely played a part in this becoming messy and distracting. I think it stems from them both hoping for the best case scenario though, which is understandable but has held them back from being honest with the fans and perhaps themselves to a certain extent. They're in a tough position: if Rose is out for the whole season, there are accusations that both he and the organisation gave everyone false hope and were dishonest. If he were to come back too soon and in the worst case scenario got hurt again, both sides would be scolded for being reckless and foolish after such a major injury. Bottom line, this isn't a good situation but hopefully it will resolve itself by next season.
In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy that the Bulls have shown a lot of heart and put together a pretty respectable season given the circumstances. I'm hoping that they can find a way to keep a couple of the guys they brought in this year, like Nate Robinson and Marco Belinelli.

That's pretty twisted mindset. No I am not happy about Rose being out. Because I'm a basketball fan before being a fan of team/player.
Second, WE ARE ALL PAYING part of his salary as a passionate fan of the sport. LoL. That's the most ridiculous argument I've ever heard anyways.
Called me a cocksucka... look who's talking. LoL
Wed May 08, 2013 2:43 am
Well... I'm paying for a league pass, so I'm also paying for the Bulls. Period. It's still good to see, that there are Bulls fans who back Rose's decision not to play. But that doesn't change my mind when it comes to how Bulls are communicating about his status.
It feels like: "Buy a ticket for a Bulls game and maybe the shy Derrick Rose will appear. We won't guarantee anything, but the chances are there. So pay for it!"
Wed May 08, 2013 10:45 am
They've got to sell tickets I suppose, so they'll work all the angles.
It reminds me a little of some of the ads on ESPN Australia during the regular season, when they were hyping up the chance to see Andrew Bogut every time the Warriors were on. Unfortunately, during the stretch where they were showing a couple of Warriors games, Bogut was still being eased back into the lineup and was actually out of action every time, so any Aussies only tuning in to see a homegrown player would have been disappointed. On the plus side, they showed Game 6 of the first round series with the Nuggets here, where he had that big game.
