played through the first level yesterday. i think it's a great game. the similarities to LittleBigPlanet are there. also, shooting out of the popcorn bucket cannons are an obvious nod to Donkey Kong Country's barrel cannons.

It's in an alpha stage, so it has lots of little bugs but is completely playable and very immersive. For instance, somebody used a bunch of barbed wire to close off the entrance to this gate house. I found a gap to get through but the last part was a bit tight so I went prone and crawled through. Once I got in the door, something cut me up really bad and broke my bones. So I was bleeding heavily, had to bandage myself using several bandages, and now I can not walk, but I can crawl.

There is an odd bug when crawling through a doorway that is slightly elevated. It hurts you badly. It sucks because I am out of food(you need to eat and drink when the respective icons start flashing), and I have a good amount of loot. A winchester shotgun with several clips of ammo, an alice pack that allows you to carry more loot in your bag, barbed wire, flares, an M9 handgun and a clip, several bandages, a couple smoke grenades, a map, a compass, and some soda cans for drinking.

I haven't really encountered anyone who talks through their microphone that speaks english, but there is a global chat that people can use to communicate across the server. I need to use that so I can get someone to fix my bones somehow. I think it could be really fun with a bunch of people because there are so many players who just go shooting other people and stealing their loot instead of zombies. The developers increased the zombie count probably in an effort to curb the player vs player killing. I would love to help others out who need it and am willing to trade loot.

A couple of things I don't like are the player movement and directional sound. Zombies can sometimes sound like they are right next to you. Your footsteps and movement sounds are incredibly loud. When you side strafe there is a shuffle sound that is so annoying and loud, especially on certain surfaces. However, the directional sound is great for hearing gunshots, and as long as people are using their microphone in direct communication mode, you can hear their character speak at a certain distance. I believe the characters lips move when players speak, too. Pretty cool. I don't like the way the guns are aimed, but I am sure this is because you are actually controlling the animation of the player rather than just a camera view of your target.

Apparently you can fix some cars and helicopters and use them. The only thing I found was a car tire that I could not pick up because I wasn't willing to drop anything.

Zombies can kill you so quickly, so a lot of the time I am just sneaking around or even crawling past them. As soon as they hear shots, they start running towards that location and alerting other zombies. At one point I had several chasing right after me and got them to run into a barrier to give me time to reload and shoot them all down. You can distract them with flares and smoke grenades.

I heard the company might make this mod part of the game since the creator is one of the developers of the original game, and they have been supporting him throughout it's development.

If you get it, hit me up so we can schedule a time to play. Spawns are random on the map, so friends have to communicate to find each other.

Games I currently play. On my PS3.

Frequently are . .
NBA 2k11 (Overall 90 SF/SG)
Socom 4 (Campaign completed, I like the multiplayer and co-op)
Infamous (Still haven't completed this game)
Killzone 3 (Campaign completed, multiplayer and co-op are always fun)
Dark Souls (Struggling, I am stuck at Crystal Caves)
Bad Company 2 (Still moving through the campaign)

PS:Just read Pdub's entire post. Sounds awesome, however my computer wouldn't be able to handle that game, let alone the massive ai bots it has. If I get a better computer that would certainly be on my list.

I don't think anybody's computer can handle it. I have everything at normal and still get under 30 fps in some areas.

Why isn't there anything that can be modded on consoles . . :( As much as I like computers, I'd like my console to be able to have the features my computer does. Wasn't there something about Linux and the original fat PS3's? I heard something about them having support for that OS. I dunno if it would make a difference though.

it didnt make a difference, the linux stuff was completely separate.

I am playing Trials Evolution and Minecraft on the 360. Also, 2K12 a bit.
Opinions are my own.

Reading the Gaming Deals thread made me pick up Midnight Club II again and now I'm hooked all over again. Started a new career last night and in Paris now. Game's as difficult as I remember it but still fucking fun. It's been a long time since there's been an arcade racer this good. They just don't make 'em like they used to.

Binding of Issac. Fun game but it won't let me win. Some guy named sh@d0wGrinStu that is on my Steam friend list which for whatever reason is bragging about how he gets all the good items on every run and how easy the mom boss fight is. sonofabitch.

Still will keep playing Binding of Issac until a lunar eclipse happens and somehow it will finally let me win on one playthrough and still have to get all of the riddler trophies in Batman Arkham City. Fucking tedious

I've stumbled into the mom lair two times already without even knowing it and both times with only one heart left. Still haven't killed her but close enough to make you rage quit.

Finally finished LA Noire a couple of weeks ago, then Alan Wake a few days ago and Batman: AC just today (well, not the Catwoman DLC but it's pretty repetitive stuff), so I can now focus on Assassin's Creed: Revelations and then Mass Effect 3. I'm pretty late since all of those games have been released some time ago, but Skyrim just ruined it for any other game...

2K12 and Hitman: Blood Money. If you haven't played the latter I suggest you give it a try. It's great for a 6 year old game.

playing PS2 after I got it working again, so NBA Street 1-3, Amplitude, Frequency, NFL Street 1&2, and Burnout 2 have been getting some play. Also, Trials Evolution, since I only have a few Extreme tracks left to Gold, and the Extreme Tournament.
Also, Minecraft on the PC (not 360), the new villager trading and XP gaining mechanics have made it a bit more refreshing to play...although now I have a bunch of legit loot that I have no idea what I want to do with....

Fired up the PS3 last night to play a match of Twisted Metal 2 and saw that the Wii-exclusive Resident Evils had been ported to PS3! I've been playing RE since PS1 and even with the different gameplay iterations I always loved it. This one's more like a light-gun shooter but it has non-splitscreen 2P co-op and it's nostalgic going through all the old RE levels. Great buy so far.

NBA 2K12, Twisted Metal PS3, Twisted Metal 2 and Midnight Club LA have been the rotation lately.

For PS3 I've mainly been playing NBA Live 10 (kinda obvious) and Burnout Paradise. Burnout Paradise is probably my favourite driving game ever. Spectacular crashes, awesomely cheesey soundtrack and a big open map with jumps make it a game I just lose hours to even still.

I tried making Dragon Age Origins my holiday game, but I just couldn't get into it that much. Being from Bioware, I thought I'd love it, but there's something about it that's a bit lacking... I think it's the combat system. I've also had a great urge to get Saints Row 2 out of storage as well.

For me it's been Dark Souls (Level 224), along with Uncharted 1, NBA 2k11 (SF OVR 93), and UFO: Aftershock on PC. Dunno why, but I've been craving SCI-FI RTS/TBS lately

Been playing SSX for couple days but couldn't really get into it.

Picked up Jak & Dext collection package and played 1 & 2 briefly. Those PS2 games are still fun to have around.

Just finished Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Weird ass ending as usual, and it's still hard to figure what the hell this was all about...Also, what's up with Desmond and Ezio looking completely different (besides the aging factor)?
Anyway, on to Mass Effect 3 now, and then Max Payne 3.
