When: December 2, 7:00 p.m.
Where: Pepsi Center
Records: Nuggets, 11-5; Mavericks, 5-12.

Melo vs. Bron (Part 2)

By Arthur Barclay

DENVER-This has been a great rookie campaign for both players. There are a few things that seperate Carmelo and Lebron from each other. Carmelo has led his team to an 11-5 record which is best in the Midwest, but he didn't recieve a Rookie of the Month plaque like Lebron James. Lebron recieved the East Rookie of the Month plaque yesterday. Anthony leads the league in scoring, but Chris Kaman manged to get it over him. "I felt that I was ripped off for not recieving the award, but it's just one of those things," Carmelo said.

Last time these two teams met up, the game went down to the wire. Carmelo missed the game winning shot which gave Denver a 88-87 lost to the Cavaliers. The Nuggets have became a very different team after acquiring Stoudemire and Joe Johnson. In their last 7 games they hold a 6-1 record.

Key Matchup:
Carmelo Anthony vs. Lebron James

These two met up once again and will be the last time this season. Lebron has boosted his average up every since playing the Nuggets early in November. He is now averaging 17.1 ppg, 7.1 rpg and 4.4 apg. Carmelo is averaging 31.2 ppg and is shooting 52% from the field in 31 mins. It will be very exciting to see what these two rookie phenoms wil do against each other.

On playing against Lebron again...

"It was another anticipated matchup and it was even a better game this time because my team won. We enjoy playing each other and it's just a fun game when its close and you going up against your best friend. I hope we can continue our winning ways and we are playing some of the best basketball as of late. This was a great win for us."

Breaking News

ImageImage

DENVER-The Denver Nuggets just traded Andre Miller and Francisco Elson to the Sacramento Kings for G Mike Bibby. This was a very surprising trade to the fans in Denver. "Well the Kings we're the ones to offer us the trade. We felt that Bibby was a better fit in our system, because we love to run alot. Miller was a great PG, but he just didn't have the speed that Bibby has," General Manager Kiki Vandewegh said.

Mike Bibby averaged 15.4 ppg and 5 apg in the 16 games he has played with Kings. Andre Miller averaged 13 ppg and 7.8 apg. These two teams will battle it out on January 11th and that's when their PG's will be put to the test.

Other News

The Denver Nuggets signed C Pat Burke (50) to a 1 year/minimum contract deal. Burke was slected 12th overall by the Orlando Magic in the 1998 draft. He went to Utah in his college years.

It's very funny that you said that, because the Kings offered me that deal above just last night. I was going to post it today. What you all think about the deal?

I think Bibby is a good fit to go around players like Carmelo, JJ and Amare.

i think with the addition of bibby, you're going to start blowing teams away (if you play). But he should definitely make your team better. The most important thing he adds is his three point shooting and, of course, his speed.
Since you do watch the computer play, bibby just made your team a lot more interesting to watch.

Good luck with your franchise and I hope that you go real far in the playoffs.

funny because I think Miller is the far better passer, team leader, and defender than Bibby. But I like Bibby and I agree that he's a far better shooter...should fit well. Wonder why the Kings did that.

Bibby Will Make Debut

By Arthur Barclay

GOLDEN STATE-Denver Nuggets GM Kiki Vandewegh has brought in alot of talent throughout the season. He has now brought in a great PG who can shoot, pass and run the team.

Mike Bibby has had a great NBA season thus far, and help lead his Sacramento Kings to a 10-6 record. He is now in Denver to help ther Nuggets capture their 1st playoff berth in over 10 years and try to get furthur than that. "I;m here to help take this team to the next level. We are going to do some damage the rest of the season," Bibby said.

"We have assembled alot of young guys and put them around some solid vets to get a more mature and young team. We have some players with playoff experience. We will become a very fast, energetic and great defensive team," Kiki said.

Key Matchup:
Mike Bibby vs. Nick Van Exel

This will be Bibby's first game in a Nuggets uniform and will have to guard a tough offensive PG in Van Exel. Van Exel leads G.S. in scoring with 17.9 ppg and can light you up when he is hot. Bibby is another tough offensive PG who can have his way if his shots are going. It will be a very interesting matchup tonight.

Probable Starters:
Nuggets
C-Marcus Camby
PF-Amare Stoudemire
SF-Carmelo Anthony
SG-Joe Johnson
PG-Mike Bibby

Probable Starters:
Warriors
C-Erick Dampier

the kings prolly did that because even without bibby, they still have so many scoring options. Webber, Stojakovic, Miller etc...and in denver apart from Melo there isnt anyone quite as dominent offensively.
And with a guy like Miller in Sac, if hes that much better a passer then bibby, he should create an even more threatening offense there with his dishes =)
So both teams are happy now. lol.

GOLDEN STATE-At the end of the 1st quarter, the Warriors led 21-20. Carmelo missed a halfcourt shot at the end of the quarter. Anthony led Denver with 8 pts. Stoudemire had 6 pts, and already recorded 9 rebs. Bibby scored 2 pts and 1 stl in the 1st quarter, only playing 6 mins because of the 2 early fouls. Richardson led the Warriors with 6 pts.

Joe Johnson recieved a severe back injury during the 2nd quarter and had to sit out the entire quarter. Denver managed to keep a lead with him out and led 48-43 at halftime. Carmelo scored 14 pts to lead the Nuggets in scoring. Barry and Bibby both scored 9 pts apiece. Van Exel had 9 pts for the Warriors, while Richardson put in 8 pts.

Johnson started the 3rd quarter and scored 12 pts in the quarter. He shot 5-10 in the 3rd and helped Denver finish off the quarter on a 7-2 run which gave them a 72-64 advantage over the Warriors. Bibby had 13 pts and 8 asts. Stoudemire had a double-double with 10 pts and 12 rebs. Jason Richardson and Van Exel combined for half of the Warriors 64 pts.

The Nuggets had too much power for the Warriors to make a comeback. Denver finished them off winning the game 103-88. Stoudemire was the Player of the Game with 16 pts and 15 pts. Bibby led the Nuggets in scoring with 22 pts and 9 asts. Carmelo finished with 18 pts and 9 asts. Joe Johnson scored all 17 of his pts in the 2nd half and he also grabbed 9 rebs. Boykins and Barry had 9 pts apiece. Camby finished with 6 pts, 15 rebs and 5 blks.

Nick Van Exel led the Warriors with 26 pts, 8 rebs and 6 asts. Jason Richardson scored 18 pts for G.S. Claxton scored 10 pts off the bench.

ImageDENVER NUGGETS GUARD MIKE BIBBY(22 points and 9 assists)
On great debut...

"I wasn't expecting to fit so well with the team in the 1st game with them. When I was in foul trouble sitting on the bench, the coach was talking to me and helping me by going over plays. After I really understood everything, I went out and start playing the way I usually play. When I came back in the 2nd quarter, I didn't have any TO's for the rest of the game and it was a great feeling to go out there and do as well as I did. I feel very confortable with the team now."

Denver Playing Back-2-Back

By Arthur Barclay

DENVER-This is the 2nd game in 3 days for both of these teams. They played each other on December 4 and Denver ended up winning 103-88. "It was a team effort and Bibby felt good out there with his new teammates," Bzdelik said.

Mike Bibby will make his home debut tonight against the same team he made his Nuggets debut. Bibby scored 22 pts and dished out 9 asts in his debut against the Warriors. "It was all in a matter of listening to the players and coaches on the court. They taught me alot on the first day," Bibby said.

The Nuggets are on a 3 game winning streak, and will try to extend that streak at home against the Golden State Warriors.

Key Matchup:
Mike Bibby vs. Nick Van Exel

On December 4, both of these PG's had big games, but Bibby was the one that got the victory. Nick Van Exel was mad at his defensive effort on that night and wants to put Bibby on lock down tonight. Bibby was also disappointed with his defense, even though he got 3 stls. Expect to see more of a defensive battle from these 2 PG's than offense.

Probable Starters:
Nuggets
C-Marcus Camby
PF-Amare Stoudemire
SF-Carmelo Anthony
SG-Joe Johnson
PG-Mike Bibby

Probable Starters:
Warriors
C-Erick Dampier
PF-Clifford Robinson
SF-Mike Dunleavy Jr.
SG-Jason Richardson
PG-Nick Van Exel
