Here's the thing about changing the channel though: it definitely doesn't seem to work both ways. When a group like the Parents' Television Council comes across something they don't like and conflicts with their beliefs, they don't change the channel; they bully advertisers and get shows pulled. Obviously they do not represent all Christians or people of faith but if changing the channel is the rule to follow, it should apply to them the same as the rest of us. I think he doesn't seem to understand that if all things are religions, then nothing is a religion because the term is meaningless.

If he limits religions to being merely the same as any moral philosophy his entire appeal to authority argument crumbles because it then allows for the possibility of it being wrong and creates a circular defense where it's right because it's right and it can't be wrong because it's right.
