Calderon > Wall on opposite day...RAPTORS WIN! RAPTORS WIN! RAPTORS WIN! With our epic 94-93 win in Washington, we have improved to 2-9! And so caps a fantastic five game stretch of Craptors basketball, where the team played unprecedented .400 ball. Get hyped.
It all began when Triano changed up the "Cack" (his words, not mine) tandem by promoting Jose to the starting spot. This yielded an amazing upset victory over the perennial dynamo Warriors, scoring 109 against their vaunted defense. We then lost to a trio of Southeast teams by an average of 22 points, but whatever, more lottery balls for us.
The true highlight though was our gem of a win in Washington. Bargs lit up the Wizards with 23 points (on just 24 field goal attempts!) and 15 boards, while #1 pick John "Another Brick From The" Wall played like shit against possibly the worst defensive point guard of all time in Caldy. The game was a true nailbiter. Amir hit a pair of clutch FT's to put us up one with 23 seconds left. Then the Wizards missed like 7 game-winner attempts (we kept turning it over and giving up offensive boards), but after Wall's last shot bricked, the buzzer sound, and we won the battle of the cellar dweller East teams.

Bargnani's secret to upping his scoring: shooting more. | 2K10 sucked (but I miss my Bullets association!)Amidst our gallant 2-3 stretch (which puts us just a half game out of 14th place!), I made some observations of the team: they have very little upside. Our PG's are subpar, our SG's are enigmas, our SF's are passable, but not star caliber, our PF's suck at offense, defense and not fouling and our Center is shooting 37% from the field. Pretty turrible. I'd love to trade the entire team for expirings, but that doesn't seem to be an option. However, there is one player who's been intriguing:
DeMar "Heir Canada" "DeMarvelous" "No D" "DeBust" "DeBlowzan" "D²" DeRozan Averages: 13.2 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 0.8 APG, .532% TS, 12.8 PER
Role: Starting SG
DeMar can jump, but other than that, I don't really see why he was a lottery pick (especially taken over the likes of Brandon Jennings, DeJuan Blair, Ty Lawson, Darren Collison, etc. etc. etc.). However, he has proven to do three things well: dunk, rebound and get to the line. He can't shoot, pass or defend all that well, but he has some potential. He may be better trade bait than prospect, but I could see him developing into a Corey Maggette-style SF.
In other news, Durant is hobbled with a strained abdomen and the Thunder are struggling, much like the 09-10 Blazers, which makes me happy. (Fuck you Clay Bennett!) The Hornets got their washed-up backup for CP3 in Jamaal Tinsley, while Rafer "Skip To My Lou" Alston has signed with the Queens.
Until next time, Liam out...
