Melo to Chicago headlines trade deadline deals.
The Nuggets decided to pull the trigger on trading their franchise player Carmelo Anthony, shipping him alongside Roger Mason to the Chicago Bulls for Luol Deng and Joakim Noah.
The Bulls were reluctant to give up Noah, but after dealing Kirk Hinrich to the Mavericks for Kendrick Perkins, they decided to let the young forward go. Chicago instantly becomes one of the contenders in the East with their big three - Carmelo Anthony, Carlos Boozer and Derrick Rose.
With Carl Cruz and Kendrick Perkins rounding up the line-up, they have one of the best starting line-ups in the league.
The Nuggets wanted as much value as they could for Anthony and Chicago's offer seemed the best. New Orleans was believed to be interested in Anthony also.

Behind the Public Eye - Part 3
"Rubio takes off his warm-up jersey and prepares to come in for Rondo, definitely gets his chance to play in his opener. Rondo is still down on the floor, getting ready to stand up, but it doesn't look good," Mike Breen was calling the Celtics-Bucks game. It was the rematch of the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals, when Boston advanced to the Finals in 6 games.
"Boston are best in the Atlantic division and second in the East, but with Paul Pierce out and Rondo still down, things won't be easy."
Rondo started to get up, with the crowd starting to applaud after a long silence. Brandon Jennings was clapping hard, then turned to his teammates :
"We got this now."
"Come on man, the guy could be seriously hurt," Bogut replied.
"No, not that. I hate to see a player go down, it's just that Ricardo comes in now. Spanish wonder my ass. I got him, it's personal."
Scott Skiles put in James White and Luc Mbah a Moute and they returned to the floor with Bogut, Warrick and Jennings.
Jennings walked towards Rubio, talking smack to the Spaniard :
"So, think you can beat me now with this team? I don't think so. Your ass is mine!"
"Sorry, are you homosexual?" Rubio replied, not really understanding Jennings.
"What the fuck? You callin me gay?"
"No senjor, I don't understand. Why my ass yours?"
"Just play, you dumb cunt."
Rubio brought the ball up court, Jennings all over him. He nearly forced a turnover, out Rubio was able to pass the ball to Dunleavy.
Jennings was in Rubio's face : "Not easy, huh?"
Rubio pretended not to listen to him and pushed Jennings away, fighting to get open. He missed a 3-point jumper and Bogut grabbed the board. Jennings brought the ball up against Rubio, crossed him over and passed it to Warrick, who dunked it with a foul. Jennings gave Warrick a quick high-five and then walked up towards Rubio.
"That's how you do it.. in the NBA. This isn't your weak-ass Euroleague anymore. I guess you wouldn't know, having sat on the bench the whole time."
"But last game I score twelve, you score eleven. Fuckbag."
Jennings was stunned for a moment.
"That's right, I know English good."
"Oh you're so gonna pay for that, you dumb fuck."
Rubio brought the ball up, Jennings stripped him and went in for the easy dunk. Rubio was getting frustrated with Jennings and the not-so-cheerful TD Garden crowd. He tried to make a behind-the-back dribble, but Jennings anticipated in and stole it again. He brought the ball up James White scored his only field goal in the fast break with a big dunk. Celtics inbounded the ball to Rubio, he took a couple of dribbled and started hearing loud boo's from the crowd and Doc Rivers called for a time-out.
Jennings walked past Rubio and said :
"All-Defensive team, bitch!"
