StoryLOS ANGELES -- Actress Brittany Murphy died after being rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles Sunday morning, a hospital spokeswoman has confirmed.
Sally Stewart of Cedars told KTLA that Murphy died there at 10:04 a.m. Meanwhile, Los Angeles police detectives were en route to Murphy's home in order to conduct a "death investigation," Officer Norma Eisenman told KTLA.
A Los Angeles city fire official confirmed to KTLA that crews responded to a home in the 1800 block of Rising Glen Road, in the city hills above West Hollywood, at 8 a.m. and that someone there was transported to a hospital. The Los Angeles Times reports that Murphy lived on that block and indicates the rescue response there was related to her death.
TMZ broke the news that someone at a home listed as belonging to her husband dialed 911 about 8 a.m. and the 32-year-old was subsequently taken to Cedars. She reportedly died in full cardiac arrest.
Caught me by surprise. RIP.

Rest In Peace.
Nothing more to say about this.

Could it have been drug related?

First thing I read this morning and I'm still shocked. I thought she was awesome. RIP Brittany

That was one of my first thoughts too. It could simply be a congenital or genetic disorder though.

True. Anyone know if her family had any other heart related stuff in it?

Well, her acting credibility is probably going to rise meteorically now.
Mon Dec 21, 2009 1:24 pm
Didn't see that one coming.

Her friends have apparently claimed that she
definitely had a drug problem, while her husband has reportedly asked that no autopsy be performed. It would certainly seem to be shaping up to be drug related.

that's too bad, that she's dead and that it may have been drug related
I was talking to Kathryn last night and she was talking about some red dress movement or something that has to do with woman dying from natural heart attacks at a younger age then men that some of her co-workers are a part of. Evidently they were thinking about using Murphy's death as a "posterchild" for their cause.
I hate people like that....especially so soon after her passing...

Especially when Murphy's heart attack doesn't fit that cause at all. Not sure what's natural about snorting coke and taking excessive amounts of prescription pain meds.

Yeah it seems a bit misaimed, when her passing seems to be shaping up more like another anti-drug PSA.

IMO, it has to be drug related. It's not normal to have a full cardiac arrest when you are 32.

and that's where that thing I was talking about with Kathryn comes in. Evidently with women it is as common around 32 as a man dying from a heart attack around 50.

Women develop heart problems later in life than men

Something doesn't add up here.

im just repeating what I was told, i havent googled it or looked into it at all
Tue Dec 22, 2009 4:30 am
I gathered that. I was just pointing out that there was faulty information being disseminated, rather than pointing to a particular source as being that of the misinformation. The website could be wrong for all I know.
Tue Dec 22, 2009 4:46 am
gotcha
Tue Dec 22, 2009 8:32 am
Barring a congenital/genetic disorder, it seems unlikely to be "natural" in Brittany Murphy's case. A snippet in
this article suggets anorexia nervosa as a contributing factor.

that's sad. liked her being in KOTH. RIP
