I get where you're coming from, but this isn't a retro update; it's their updated design based on the old logo that they'll be using starting this year. It's not just a matter of dbf editing too, you also need to change the abbreviations within the .big file and that's an unnecessary step for people who want to update their game. When it comes to current updates, I believe they should be as "plug and play" as possible, with as little tinkering by the user as possible.
To give you an example, from some of the emails I get the process of clicking the install.exe file and then going to the Load/Save menu to get a current roster update loaded seems too taxing for some users, let alone leaving it to people to edit dbf and .big files. If you wish to use the logo update in a different way, then you're certainly free to make those changes so you can preserve the original logo - note that you'll also have to edit
every single other art file for the team to match the new abbreviation however - but it's not fair to require people to do all that work when all they want is an art update.
