MY WISH (updated)

I wish there would be flagrant/technical fouls that would lead to suspensions. that would make dynasty mode even more dramatic. what do you think? :cheeky:

I think the chances of it happening a very slim, since EA can't do that without the NBA giving it the green light and so far, the NBA hasn't gotten on board with that idea being as image conscious as they are.

The NBA Live game has not been remotely decent, since 2006. Since then, it has been the same thing every year. They might change the graphics a little, but the game-play is hot garbage. Take a look at Madden, the franchise mode is so complex and well developed. In Madden you can have multiple team franchises, online leages, and the off-season allows you to relocate teams, sign actually coaches, restructure players contracts, and even sign sponsorships. NBA live does none of this, the franchise mode has no depth to it at all and this game mode to me, is the most important. In the franchise mode you can resign your players, try to sign free agents, but cap room is always a problem, (option to restructure contracts) you can also purchase better coaches with "dynasty points" (huge waste of time) and after that the next season starts. The off-season in NBA live does little to help your team improve.
Also trading during the season or off-season is almost impossible without giving up too much, and draft picks don't help out much at all.
The gameplay is not bad, but I think blocks and dunks can be improved alot. First off I think players should actually dunk the ball when they are under or near the basket, but missing layups time after time is just inexcusable. I am not talking about average players, this is Dwight Howard, Shaq, and Amare Stoudamire. I also think players should actually get dunked on, this was a nice feature in NBA live 2006 (i think). The blocks in NBA Live are weak, they should be more forceful and should be pinned to the backboard. In my opinion, NBA live needs a full face lift. I get my hopes up every year for this game and I hit rock bottom every year. Im not saying I want NBA live to be like NBA Jam, but the game is plain out boring. Look at Madden's complexity and how well it has done over the years, that's all I'm saying.

I'd agree in regards to the PC version, NBA Live 07 and especially NBA Live 08 for the PC were huge disappointments (as was the lack of a PC release for NBA Live 09) but the Xbox 360/PS3 versions have been making progress year-to-year in my view.

i agree with emoe2304, some EA gamesare better than NBA live (in terms of manager mode). the best yet was the FIFA mode

btw, i have some new wishes:

2. more hustle activities (like in 2k)
3. if you fuck up on a trade, the manager scolds you
4. same as in no.3 but reversed.
5. CPU vs. CPU trades should also have 4-6 man tardes rather that the 2-man and the man-for-draft-pick trade
6. 3 team trades (like 01)
7. a trading block (like 2k)
8. more cut scenes (like nba lives 03 and 04)
9. season-ending injuries
10. career enders!

- Maybe a mini game where you'll try to convince a player to sign or re-sign.
- Ability to fire and hire coaches.
- Rehabilitation mini-games? Be the injured player and do everything you can to be back in game/shape?
- 20 sec. timeouts
- A feature where you can add or edit commentator voices.
- Career Mode (Coach)
- Around the Association (Game Recaps)

i hope they have that 20 sec. timeouts (did the PBA have 30 secs.) it makes the game more and more realistic.

here's another wish.

1. animations wherein the players interacts with a fan (a high-five maybe, or maybe leaping in the stands)

12. ability to hire new coaches in dynasty (do you really think gregg popovich would survive another 25 years coaching for the spurs without meeting good ol' grim reaper.)... i think 2k has this one already

They actually introduced it in NBA Live 08 but only for the 360/PS3 version. I think we're all hoping (or a fair few of us, at any rate) for a 360 port to the PC as early as next year. :)
