if it does then I hope the lakers will win.
I'm glad you concluded for me that I hate myself, thanks.
By the way, I also very much enjoy watching my team play.

The truth is: Most people do watch their favorite team because to them: they are the most entertaining. It is all a matter of taste. Do i like watching the spurs play? No. But alot of people would disagree with me.
As far as the happiness from winning a championship: let people have their fun and feel like they did something. Theres no harm in it. Also: usually when your team wins the championship the next year gets more games televised. Which means you get more hours of them entertaining you without extra work. You may also attract more entertaining players, coachs, and get more media coverage. Winning a championship is not necessarily the only thing: but there are lots of added benefits to doing so which would result in making fans "happy".

Anyway, I honestly expected an answer like this from Marion because I don't expect him to be playing in Toronto for more than 30 games anyway. I do feel that the fact that so called Raptor "analysts" (that stupid Sherm guy, Matt Devlin, etc.) continue to shove that "oh the Raptors are a better run and gun team with Shawn Marion now" gunk down the average Raptor fan's throat that Marion had to answer the same question for the billionth time and was misquoted a bit I guess.
The Raptors have been a wannabe run and gun team forever now it seems. Every off-season there's the one or two newspaper articles chronicling how the Raptors are able to get up and run when clearly they're god awful at it.

Oh believe me, I do. You still don't sound like you have no idea what you're talking about though, but you did just admit that you're not someone who would have something credible to say anyway.

I don't consider the raptors a run and gun team. or a half court team. they are something in between depending on who they have on the field. their offense is usually give the ball to whoever thinks he's got the hot hand. and if that person really does have the hot hand, they are capable of giving teams a run for their money or even winning.
they don't seem to have a consistent style of play it seems.Diddy wrote:fully agree with you! every true fan enjoy just watching his team play, and there is no bigger pleasure than seeing them winning! if someone thinks otherwise, so he isn't a real fan of a team!
things I love.
1. women.
2. food.
3. games.
4. Fancypants McGee.
5. Football. (not the american kind which ironically is played with the hands 95% of the game)
and basketball? it's something to kill time with. does that mean I am not a real fan? who cares. I don't see the importance of that definition. I like watching because it's better than shitty tv shows. and I needed to get to know the players a bit so I can have more fun playing nba 2k9. I don't overdose on my emotions when it comes to nba though.

Oh... Okay.

3. Your city winning a championship as silly as this sounds helps keep jobs there. If you're a perennial loser, your team will eventually move: you lose security, vendor, merchandise...it takes alot of people to run a pro event. Also other things like restaurants bars etc. benefit greatly from the teams presence. Just 2 cents here: take it or leave it

3. Oh yeah, I'll agree with that, for sure. But it's highly unlikely that this has anything to do with why people cheer for their home team.

Shawn Marion has only played 10 games for the Raptors following a trade from the Heat, but he's already frustrated by the team's play.
"I'm pissed off," Marion said Thursday. "I am. I want to win.
"I don't want to go out there and lose every night. I didn't come here for this. I didn't expect this.
"Right now, we've got no fire. We've got to find that fire. That's what we need. We have a talented team, man. We have to pull together and help each other. We have to decide now if we're going to fold it up or look in the mirror, make a stride, and get on with it."
Toronto is 2-8 since Marion arrived and sits at 23-42, six games behind Milwaukee and Chicago for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.
