Since, in the offseason moves, you essentially play as GM, I thought you should have to answer to the Owner of your team. And this could be used to prevent making re-signings easy, as they have been in Dynasty mode. In the past few Lives, you could just re-sign anyone you wanted just as long as they wanted to sign with you, (which they did 90% of the time anyway) and not have to worry about how much you were over the cap.
So I thought, when it comes to re-signing players, there should be an option to see, in addition to a player's interest in re-signing and the money he wants, the owner's comments on the player, whether he still wants him around, and the money he's willing to spend on re-signing the player. And team owner's rationale will be based on the current team owners, so if you're GM of the Clippers, you'll expect to see a lot of talent sign elsewhere unless the team is really successful, but if you're with Dallas, you'll be free to re-sign almost anyone you want.
To keep things fresh, owners can change so there will be hope if your owner is a cheapskate, or your job might get harder if you have a hard ass owner take over the team. Of course, if you don't like your situation at all, you can take a job at another team.
