At least they only lost by one point against the Mavericks. If it was Atlanta or Charlotte, I'd be disappointed. Sucked that they blew a 16 point lead, though.

Hey, 5 of 7 isn't bad, especially with the 2 losses being close games against top teams ... although we should have beat Dallas :shake:

5 game home stand coming up; Sacramento, Utah, Charlotte, NO/OKC, and Boston. We should be able to get 3, maybe 4 of those games. :)

One down with a solid win over Sacramento, 4 to go. I think the difference betweem this year's team and last is that this year the Raps are closing out games, not giving them up in the last quarter.

The defense of the Raptors has been a pleasent surprise. The Raptors have held their opponents to about 86 per game of late, and it's helped us close out our games. It was nice to see Garbo break out of his slump last night, and Calderon played great basketball last nice. He's been turning the corner quite often and he's a good finisher around the bucket.

Have the Utah Jazz in town tommorow. Two great matchup's tommorow: TJ Ford vs. Deron Williams and Chris Bosh vs. Carlos Boozer. Should be a fun game to watch.

After watching the Atlantic for a couple minutes, I think I will be prepared for that day.

They can just as quickly lose the Atlantic too. If they can stay healthy and gel well enough, then there's no doubt they'll be in the playoffs. I just hope they don't lose that 2007 pick to Charlotte or get a low draft pick.

RAPTORS WIN! RAPTORS WIN! RAPTORS WIN! A solid 15-point comeback effort to get the win. One more game to get to .500, and it's against Boston. :D

I'm still unsure whether the Raptors are doing well or not. They're barely at the .500 mark, but they're also 4th place in a terribly weak conference. They've been playing pretty well lately, but I'm wondering if that will significantly improve near playoff time, or they'll continue to be stuck in the middle. I still don't get them. They can either be very good, or very mediocre.

They're only 4th cause their a division leader  , if it was according to just their record or they weren't division leader, they would be either 8-10 I think.

^^ he's proved that, but still people are like Ford is the Future at the point. . .gimme a break Calderon is WAY better and should keep the starting position!!! If raps make the playoffs Calderon will keep them in games just because of his experience alone!!

Check this on RealGM Trade Checker: 3640592
Jorge Garbajosa and Fred Jones for Corey Maggette.
I'm a Corey Maggette fan and I think this would work out fine. We won't be needing Fred because Corey is a stronger/bigger/taller/better player and slasher and shooter and dunker than Fred. and Garbajosa is nice on the defensive end really smart but he takes too many bad shots. Corey Maggette would make a way better starting small forward. putting garbajosa at sf takes minutes away from graham, jones, mo pete, bargnani, and more. i really want to trade garbajosa while his value is kind of high right now before he gets old or hits a euro/rookie wall.
Imagine
Nesterovic/Bargnani - PAPE
Bosh - Kris Humphries
Maggette - Joey Graham
Parker - Mo Pete
Ford/Calderon

Also, I want Darrick Martin to go SOOOO BADDDD. this guy is getting so old and sucks so bad! anyone remember the suns game at the acc? raps were down by 2 and darrick martin who is supposed to be the veteran guard dribbles the ball up the court instead of passing it which everybody knows is faster and then pulls up for his shitty j that goes over the backboard and never makes contact with the rim. sam mitchell should get fired as well. this guy keeps darrick martin in with 3 minutes left trailing in a close game who right after the timeout throws up a wild attempt 1feet away from the net and it hits the top of the backboard and bounces back airball. so martin is shit and mitchell is retarded.
thank you for reading my retarded ramble

:?

Garbajosa isn't playing that great right now, but it doesn't mean he should be traded. He's the type of player every team wants, someone who works hard and does the little things. He's also a very smart player. As for Martin, I agree he shouldn't be playing as much as he his, but he was never brought in to play. The Raptors signed him more as a coach to help Jose develop. His contributions aren't seen on the court, but I'm certain he's been a huge help to the team.

I don't know if the Raps really need a major deal to be made right now either. Maybe Jones or Peterson will go (and I hope it's not Mo Pete :( ), but I honestly think the Raptors have a solid team, and saying 'wait another year for the players to develop' is actually true this year, unlike past years. We've got Ford, Calderon, Graham, Bargnani, Pape Sow (to some extent) and of course Bosh, and all of them appear to be turning into solid players for the future. I really like what Colangelo has done with this team, and to be fair, no-one expected Garbajosa and Parker to contribute like this so signing Jones wasn't a mistake even though he's not playing much.

Garbajosa does a lot of good things that doesn't end up on the stats sheet. He even said that in Europe, nobody cares about the stats; what matters are doing the little things, the intangibles.

On a positive note, the Raptors are the first team in NBA history to have player of the month (Bosh), rookie of the month (Bargnani), and coach of the month (Mitchell) all in the same month!

The Raptors win their 5th straight and 14th of 18 over the Lakers in another exciting game. Bosh was talking about making a run for the top spot in the East a couple games ago, but I was hesitant to believe him. Not anymore, I think the Raptors have a legitimate shot at a top-3 spot in the East. GO RAPTORS!! :D

I thought they were going to lose with those missed free throws, layups, etc. But they showed poise in crunch time and won. Woooo!

Great games by CB4, AP, and Il Mago!

For November, they were 5-10, then in December they were even at like 7-7, and then in January, they completely reversed November to 10 wins and 5 losses, and now they're just really gelling. They seemed to have found chemistry far earlier than I expected. The tandem of TJ/Calderon and the strong play of Bosh is really working well. This team is starting to look really good, and I'm glad the European pieces are fitting in.
