if you are using vista, try right clicking the exe and select "Run as Administrator"

well it sounds like something is limiting the game

whether it is virus protection, user limitations or something else is beyond me

Check if your 2k9 saves folder in Application Data is on the same HDD as the game itself. I know it's not the best guess, but that's the only thing that I can think of at the moment.

It's probably hidden. If the Application Data folder is set as hidden, 2k9 folder won't show up in the search either. I took a while for me to find it, although I searched in hidden folders before. At first check that, and then search on the other HDD, if there's still nothing.

No, I ment that 2k9 folder probably won't show up if you just search it - at first make App Data folder not hidden and then it should be there. And yes, I'm using xp sp3 as well.

Solution I read from official 2ksports forum.

You need to create a Windows User Account with only English letters, and run the game with that account so you can save games.
