In actual gameplay whats your top FPS and PC Specs ?
i get around 32, probably because of my 2 year old CPU...Dual Core 3.2, ram=2gig , GTX 260, 1680x1050
does anyone actually get 60 ?
thx
Sat Dec 27, 2008 12:44 am
I do
Vista
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz
3 gig ram
2 8800GT in SLI
Sat Dec 27, 2008 12:57 am
do you think cpu upgrade should do the job ? or that depends more on sli functionality ?
Sat Dec 27, 2008 1:09 am
I get 60 (i can get higher but i enable vsnyc on so im capped at 60)
I get 60 in game and goes down during the endgame scenes and freethrow
all highest settings, +8xaa and 16xaf @ 1680x1050
from fraps

what processor do you have? you sure its the processor? can you post your exact specs? have you tried running other benchmarks to see what the problem is?

I know your HD 4850 is prolly better than my 8600GS but what nvidia is your card = to
Sat Dec 27, 2008 11:53 am
4850 is about at par with 9800GTX/GTX+

what? i was asking him what processor he had because his fps is too low for his video card as we have the same videocard and i get much higher fps than him

im thinking maybe theres a problem somewhere in his system and him jumping to the conclusion that it was his processor giving him the problem (and replacing it) may not be the most practical route to take

wicked as i said in my first post my proc is 3 years old : pentium 3.2 dual core...
Sat Dec 27, 2008 12:06 pm
ahhh but we have the same videocard, something might be wrong other than the CPU for you to get half my framerate/ what is your PSU btw? how many amps on the 12vrail?
Sat Dec 27, 2008 12:16 pm
Wick you got AMD or Intel plz reply in the 64-bit thread i made thx

wicked my psu is 600watts seasonic , what soft do u recommend that benchmarks and tells me where problem comes from ?
Sat Dec 27, 2008 1:47 pm
A 600watt seasonic should be good enough...hmmm im really not sure, but have you tried 3dmark? i heard that at high resolutions like the one we are using (1680x1050) the processor bottlneck should be that much of an issue (dunno if it applies to the PentiumD though since its quite weak vs the Core2duos)
but half my fps? i mean w/o vsync on i could even get 70ish at max settings...hmmmm
how about your other games?
Sat Dec 27, 2008 5:58 pm
Bro tnt23 100% your problem is the CPU before i was using a 550watt PSU and HD4850 1GB Video card and 2GB of ram and an intel Pentuim D 3.2 same like yours my frame rate was about 27 FPS so i upgraded my CPU only the CPU to Core2Duo E8400 and thank God now iam getting 65 FPS so iam definitly sure that your CPU is the bottlneck. TRUST ME ON THAT

thx Za man

its good news for me that its just the cpu... btw hope we can soon see your beautiful patches in 2K9 too !

all max @1680x1050 + forced 16xAF via nVIDIA control panel
w/ vsync on
2008-12-31 00:34:51 - nba2k9
Frames: 9435 - Time: 157442ms - Avg: 59.927 - Min: 56 - Max: 62
w/ vsnyc off
2008-12-31 00:38:24 - nba2k9
Frames: 5873 - Time: 74155ms - Avg: 79.199 - Min: 63 - Max: 99
oddly though, the lower fps (with vsync on) feels a lot smoother, probably because of the more constant fps than the fluctuating one with vsync off
both instances i shot the freethrow though so thats when the lowest fps is

So can you finally play the game now without crashes?
Wed Dec 31, 2008 9:54 am
three games straight so far without crashes.. the only change so far is that the dvd is in the dvd-rom drive and set paging file to system managed
