NBA 2K9 PC Patch has now been Released!

Been bugged all month long with various issue like goaltending, subsitution (fatigue/rotation) issue and so on.

If 2KSports can release it before the year, I'll never play NBA Live again in my life!

Never play Live again? Dude, as soon as 2k9 was released for the PC, I grabbed my Live copy, took it to a deserted field, chopped the CD into little pieces, burned the pieces, fed the pieces to a dog, burned his shit, and scattered his shit ashes to the four corners of the world.

Today, I got called for a CLEAR PATH FOUL for the first time ever. It's been 2 months since this game's been released and I'm still discovering new and awesome stuff. The difference between 2k9 and Live is like the difference between driving a Ferrari F430 and walking.

i got clear path foul twice so far, sucks lol. tryin to come back in a game ur behind in but make a turnover and clear path foul too. lol

No patch before 2009, so I guess I still have to play NBA Live. Maybe if they release it in 2010 with next gen graphics and better PC market.

Maybe 2KSports is also feeling the NBA Live thing with the PC version. . .
They're starting to realize the downside of the market that's why they're ignoring the PC for now.

Hope this won't continue and they'll release the patch soon.

I'm just wondering if the PC patch is already out but it only installs when the real .exe file is detected and since everyone here on this website is using some sort of patch/mod, we are all using the special .exe and therefore we cannot install the PC patch? I doubt it though since there would have been an announcement on the official NBA 2K9 website but you never know....

Hey guys, I think the Patch is finally OUT! When I was about to start NBA 2K9 right now, a weird box popped out and it says "Updating NBA 2K9" and it says it's downloading something and the game will be starting as soon as the update is completed! So go now and start up NBA 2K9 and make sure you have the real .exe!

If you are not convince if the game is updating you can check by double click the Steam program and click on "My games" it will say under "Status" that NBA 2K9 is Updating. For me it says it'll take about 5hrs and if I recalled correctly, the patch for the 360 and PS3 version were pretty big too.

It's because i'm on a university network, they limit your download limit here. So I guess you will be the first to test out the patch once it is complete, once it is done could you confirm the decreased PIP and other subject matters? Thanks

Ok its done, so I went and reset the roster right now I have Albys v.5. Some of the transactions are up to date like AI in Detroit, but stuff like Francis to Memphis isnt, but im not sure aobut the ratings I think all the player are at their default ratings. Someone else has to confirm it to me Areans at 94, Duncan at 98, Granger at 88, Durant at 87, Bosh at 95 someone should check those ratings out of the box to see if thir different.

Those ratings are updated, I'm a huge Raptors fan and don't recall Bosh being at 95 out of the box before. Could you play a game and see if there is any gameplay improvements?

After playing a game with ORL & MIA I saw that my game actually didn't lag at all the whole game when it usually does 5/6 tiems a game, which is weird b/c I don't think the update was for any graphic problems. The PIP does seem to be lower now, but I noticed that the superstars aren't utilized still, Orlando barely went to Howard. Mostly Nelson was scorign and doing his thing. I was using Albhys sliders and settings and before the update the superstars seemed perfect they woudl take the most shots and score the most points but it looks like downloading the update screwed that up. I don't realy see any improvements someone else should look into it to make sure.

Are you using Default Roster, Default Gameplay Sliders, Default Coaching Sliders?

Check out all the new files popping up in the 2k9 directory while you are downloading the patch. Looks like they are upgrading alot of things for some reason. I see alot of chest, face, and norm files with similar numbering to the iff files. Just in case the patch imports these files back into their iff files, I have restored all the original files. I suggest whoever downloaded iff patches to do the same.

Hey Pdub, how much time does it say for your update to be completed? mine still says 5hrs and it's only downloading at around 25-50KB/s
