Rap or Soul?

... rap win hands down for me. I'm liking the dmx - grand champ album i got the other week.

Soul for me. For me rap can never pull the strings that a well written and performed soulfull performance can pull. A good musical voice is the shit, and my preference. I think a lot of rap songs, would lack substance or whatever you want to call it without some singing.
I dig anyone with a big voice who can really let it rip. Anyone who gives you goosebumps is

ima hardcore b-boy but i love old school soul better than most hiphop they release nowadays.
i like hiphop more than R&B but i'd take that old soul like James Brown and Funkadelic over some Ja-Rule or B2k anyday of the week.

anyways, i like Rap, Hip Hop and R&B but lately ive been listening to heaps of R&B cos Rap is deteriorating IMO

as far as R&B goes Boyz II Men, Joe, Donell Jones, Tyrese, R. Kelly and Ginuwine are good to check out

as far as Rap goes well you can't go past 2Pac, DMX, Jadakiss, Major Figgaz

well, as i can see rap beats soul in the poll but the new rap releases are thumbs down for me... the only album that i like now is outkast's speakerboxx/ the love below...

i'm not really feelin rap atm, having said that though COMMERCIAL rap is shit. Stuff that you don't hear of is better than that commercial stuff, at least the underground stuff isn't made up of sell-out artists
