Yay. A spammer reached 500! Be still my beating heart! When I reached 1000 posts on the old forum - considering I posted barely more than I do now - I didn't make a big deal out of it...and everyone and their dog has made big huge self-gratifying posts about how they have so many posts...I'm sorry, but whoopidee-fucking-doo...it's a message board, not the Grammy's...nothing personal against you, but these posts annoy the hell out of me...I'm a "vet," yet I have less posts than you...so saying you have this many posts just points out the fact that your posts are spam and junk, while I've been here for significantly longer, yet I have significantly fewer posts....

I wish people would stop posting these "accomplishments;" it's a message board, for christ's sake...it's not a big deal. It's a good message board, yeah, and we form relationships, but it's still not "real"....it's a MESSAGE BOARD...it doesn't matter...

Oh, I *might* be drunk....which is why I'm ranting...but I've thought what I just said for some time now.

Ehm, congrats on reachin 500 I guess...but you do have alot of unnecesary posts which to others (including myself) appear to be sumthing called spam. Anyways try to post more than one liners just to get your post up, or when you do post one liners, make them count. (Y)

Cut him some slack... Yes, he spams a lot, and yes, it's just 500. But let him have some fun. I don't see why not...

It's staring to be a tradition here. And I think it's a nice one.
If anything about it should change, it would be; not thanking a bunch of people... people might get pissed of about such smal things as not being mentioned... :wink:

I was crying? I wasn't crying about anything, I was pointing out an obvious fact: he spammed his way to 500 posts and made a big deal about it. It's annoying, it clutters up the forum, and it serves no purpose other than to give someone self-gratification over something completely pointless as a post count on an INTERNET forum. I mean, think about this, what does 500 posts mean? Can you put it on a resume? Do you get more respect (in this case, you probably get less respect)? Does it serve any real purpose other than bragging about something stupid?

It's the quality, not that quantity, of posts that matters. Your posts, OSF, are spam. Slam Harder, a lot of yours are, too, especially when you flame someone needlessly. I obviously am not alone in my feelings of the gobs of annoying spam on this board.

I'm posting my opinion on this post, and I'm not flaming anyone. You're also posting your opinion, but you're needlessly flaming someone. Now, I mean this in the nicest way, but the next time you think about flaming me, smash that thought to the back of your mind and just shut the fuck up...

Maybe we should have a ban on post counts, celebrations threads, and all that since it somehow always manages to stir up shit. None of us are here (I hope) to run up our post counts and what not, so there's really no use for them

I'd have to say that I agree with Shane on the quality of a post being more important than the quantity. I think a lot of these posters are trying very hard to move up the post ladder (i.e. Heidi). It would be kind of funny if post counts were eliminated and word count or words per post were instituted, then a lot of these people would fall below people like Borbon who doesn't post much but posts quality stuff instead of the garbage below:

My apologies to Old School Fool that he had to be flamed and his thread had to be locked. He was, however, the most mature person in this thread by not responding to the attacks. These things are being noted.

The first thing you need to do is stop flaming others who haven't said anything to you. Then you should stop escalating flames or other people's arguments with profanity and more personal attacks. Then I'd be happy to warn anyone that attacks you.
