hmmm I had that problem when my com was a pentium 4 1.8 with 512 sd ram with a lousy card running some other game.. I would hear the processor spin so fast and then everything would stop and just hang for a moment before rebooting. Perhaps its something to do with your graphic card. check the compatability.

I had the same problem and it drove me nuts. No other game caused it. Basicly your computer is blue screening, but by default, windows is probably setup to just log an administrative alert and reboot. Good news is, I have a *fix* and it has worked for several people. Here are my specs:

WinXP Pro SP2
Core 2 duo 2.66 OC to 3.6
2 gig mem
MB Gigabyte (p35 chipset)
ATI 4870
* * * Sound Blaster Audigy 2.

I had updated EVERYTHING. I mean every driver, bios, and OS patches (including .net / Java / directx /ETC runtimes). Then I realized that the crashdump was referencing a driver for the sound card. So, I disabled the SB, enabled the onboard sound, and the problem is now gone.

I hope this helps.

yes effectivelly it's a probleme with the sound card , I've uninstalled the card and the game worked perfectly , the fact is that I only have 1 sound card and its a card send with the motherboard , i try to download lattest drivers but the game still crashes
my sound card is a realtek high definition audio
