A very simple way to install patches with EAGE.

Due to the problems we've all been encountering with customart, we've been forced to use other "safer" methods. The use of Eage is nothing new, but I was able to eliminate one additional step while experimenting with this. (The faster the better right?)

As most of you know, the thing to do here is as follows

1)Open xplayer.viv in your Nba live2k4 folder with Eage and extract the desired player .viv file to a convenient location such as your desktop. Now, to make this process even easier, I created 2 copies of the xplayer.viv. 1 resides in the main live/render folder and the other on my desktop. Also remember to do this. Extract all your patches to the xplayer folder in your live directory as if you were going to make use of customart, then create a copy of this folder on your desktop or however you desire to address this.

2)Now that you've extracted a copy of the desired file to your desktop, let's say kobryan.viv, simply open this file with Eage. At this juncture, click on the import option up top, then click on ADD FILES TO EXTERNAL TAR ARCHIVE. This option will allow you to add several files in a row without having to closeout your current work. So, if you have several files like a skin file or headshape file, simply continue adding.

3)Here's where we skip a step. Using Eage again, open the xplayer folder initially placed on your desktop. Locate the kobryan folder. Open and you'll find the requisite files. There's no need to take the additional step and open kobryan.fsh to save as jpeg or bitmap before importing. Simply use the ADD FILES TO EXTERNAL TAR ARCHIVE option to incorporate the kobryan.fsh file into the kobryan.viv you already have opened with Eage. As I mentioned above, if you need to add any additional files such as eye, skin or head files, this is the time to do it!! Continue to click ADD until you've included all neccessary files, then click finish to your bottom right...voila!!

4) The final step offcourse is to import these files back into your xplayer.viv. Open xplayer.viv on your desktop with Eage, then click import, followed by ADD FILES TO EXTERNAL TAR ARCHIVE. Select the modified kobryan.viv from your desktop, and your done!!

Remember, the xplayer folder and xplayer.viv files have been placed on your desktop solely for convenience sake. Once you've completed your adjustments, copy the xplayer.viv from your desktop and paste it back into the main Nba live/render folder. Leave a copy on your desktop for future use.

Hope this makes sense. :D
