Most police departments here have a minimum age of 21 and they wouldn't just hire a kid straight out of high school for such a stressful and important job. My goal is become a police officer which is why I went this route. When I get out of the Navy I'll be able to show a civilian police department that I have the maturity to be an officer, unlike some 18 year old kid who has no real experience. Having a college degree is a good idea too.

I stand corrected then. It's possibly the same here, having never considered it as a career it's something I haven't looked into.

Over the weekend, my sister gave birth to her first child. Even though there were a few complications and she had to have a c-section, everybody turned out healthy. Yay to new life. Now I have two nephews. :chug:

Career night & game-winning dunk for Sean Marks versus Timberwolves....definitely worthy of bumping this thread....great to see Byron Scott playing him ahead of Melvin Ely (not surprisingly) & Hilton Armstrong (more surprisingly)....

Good news,

I'm going to Finland (Eastern Tournament) with my team in the beginning of April, it costs just 105€, plus cash that I'll use for food and all. I really think we have a chance of actually competing, despite not being really a team, just a group of players working out, a lot, calling themselves a 'team'. That doesn't matter, as long as - last week, we played in Hiiumaa's (the island I live on, quite small, but that doesn't matter) championships, 6.-7. graders, we played against two teams, we won the first one 64-6 and the second one 69-11. I played 36 minutes over two games, finished with 21 points and 19 assists, to go with around 5 boards and 5 steals. No challenge, no challenge at all ! Few weeks before that, we played in the 8. - 9. graders championships. We played 3 teams and finished 3rd, despite the fact 3/4 of our team were 7. graders, one was even fifth grader. You know, one team was full of quite pro's, we lost like 70-28 to them, but y'know, they were like dunking the shit out of us, they actually have a real team and all, so there's a small chance we could've won them .. no chance at all, tbh. The only team we won at that competition, well, they sucked bad, but we're still fairly good, I mean, 7th graders competing against 9th graders and we played quite good, the winners (the pro's I mention above), they underrated us quite much, we even led them 3-0 in the beginning, 5-2, as well. It all started, as I knocked down a triple from NBA range, which changed their mind a bit, so they started to play the D a bit, too. I ended up with 6 points against them, both three pointers (I was 2-2 from downtown).

Enough of this EGO stuff, I'm happy we can (probably) go to Finland for three days to the Eastern Tournament and I hope I'll get a chance of even making myself a little name, somehow. I know one little tournament ain't enough, but who knows - maybe I'll have an even better night than the last time with 20-20, maybe I'll be on fire and finish with something like this again, because I'll play a lot less minutes there.

Good luck to me !

I get to spend Christmas with my grandparents for the first time ever as they are flying down from England tomorrow. :D I'm not religious at all, and I don't think they are either, but the Summer is just going to be great with them around for 2 months.

I'm going to be getting trashed all through Christmas and New Years so I probably wouldn't want my grandparents around to be honest.

Haha, I don't think I had any plans to get smashed this Summer at all Jae, so I'm safe on that one.

I got into Rock Band Network, so I can make songs and sell them in Rock Band, or I can just playtest and download indie songs for free

After almost all these years, seeing her again, the things she said, and her gesture of openness...makes me real glad. Nevermind that it's a very very very slim chance that it will be us together as I wanted to, I'm just happy, some sort of closure I guess. shadowgrin will sleep happy in hell tonight/today.
If it were possible, I'd treat you all a round or two of beer! Yes, I'm that happy. E-hugs all around!
