Cena hatred is a bit passe, but I too hope they don't go with a spinner belt. Edge winning the WWE title sounded really overbooked, guess all is forgiven with Vickie Guerrero or maybe we're not supposed to think about that. I guess it remains to be seen where they'll go with that but it makes her character seem a bit weak to be so forgiving of Edge.

They brought him back for Cyber Sunday and apparently he's back for another run in a similar gimmick to before. From the sounds of it, his last TNA run was pretty ordinary with the Black Reign gimmick.

The whole split personality face Dustin Rhodes/heel Black Reign was a bit different, I'll give them that. Different is not always good though.

Yeah. It had potential at least but it didn't really come out well.

Having seen a bit of TNA recently (now that FOX8 carries it) and reading the news on WNW and the like, it seems they bungle their angles and characters like that at times. They've got talented workers but they seem to overbook endings and angles and make way too many references to the WWE.

yeah the original goldust persona i thought had a really good chance to make it. they gave up on him too soon. the movie quoting, curtain calling golddust wasn't given a chance and they wrote him into the weird razor ramon saga that spelled doom for the character.

I disagree, I think that character can be effective and certainly was at the time with his then-wife Terri coming in to manage him, establishing that he didn't actually fancy other wrestlers but was actually throwing them off guard with mind games.

I found this hilarious news:

PWINSIDER.COM is reporting that on the recent WWE tour of Iraq, WWE.com writer and former announcer, Joey Styles was the object of repeated harassment by JBL (John Layfield) with a lot of condescending comments and actions, including a report of JBL spilling a drink on Styles on purpose.

JBL has a long history of these type of harassments. On another overseas tour he harassed Smackdown's Palmer Cannon (Brian Black)(Brian Mailhot) rsulting in Cannon flying himself home from the tour.

After several days of this Styles finally went after JBL and wrestlers held them apart, but JBL & Styles broke free and Styles nailed JBL in the eye, busting him open and blackening it. It was reported that JBL had been drinking.

Rumors that JBL screamed "Oh My God" while clutching his injured eye were likely just made up by me.

I'm not sure why WWE management puts up with these harassments, but history has shown that that it has and likely will this time too.

JBL got pwned by a commentator!

Yea..it's supposed to be a big mean wrestler and styles is a little dude..it is funny. At the same time..trust me..if a medium build guy clocks batista when he doesn't expect it..he could be knocked out too. People can't build muscles in their face.

Supposedly the incident with JBL is a bit of a joke backstage and it isn't considered a big deal, though how a supposed "professional" is allowed to get away with it is beyond me. I guess in an atmosphere like that there's going to be ribbing and whatnot and you'd need have a thick skin but the amount of leeway JBL seems to have is a bit disturbing.

Yep. That JBL is a weird one. I've read on Edge's biography that JBL rubbed his ass while Edge was taking a shower when he was new. I don't know what he was trying to get across.

There's something that one grown man is not suppose to do with another grown man, and the thing JBL done is one of them. I would've expected that Chris Canyon/Mortis because he's actually gay, but JBL is something you don't hear everyday.

It's actually one of the more commonly told stories by the wrestlers with regards to ribbing.

It's definitely surprising given JBL's beliefs tend to be conservative. You wouldn't expect him to engage in that kind of ribbing.

We've still got spoiler tags. Posts from before the change to phpBB3 don't get parsed though, so they show the tags instead of working properly.

See?

I was surprised to see them give Jeff Hardy the belt this early as I thought they might have him win the Rumble and build up to him winning at Wrestlemania, but he's as over as anyone right now and it's great that they took their chances on him. Hopefully no personal issues will get in the way and he'll have a successful run at the top.
