Hi Folks,
did you also notice, that the cpu is cheating?
I never finished a game with blowout, though I was leading by 15 at the end of third quarter. Then the CPU hit every impossible shot and I just managed to win by one or two points.
Another game was close all the time. I was leading by 4 with 1:00 to go. I used Amare Stoudemire to post up. He attempted a twohanded slam, which he missed. Then opponent hit a threepointer. On the next possision, Shawn Marion was doubleteamed and Amare was wide open in the paint. Marion gave the ball two Amare who again missed a twohanded dunk. I grabbed the offenisive board, but P.J. Brown stole the ball and Davis hit a three at the buzzer...
If it was one game, it would be okay, but this happens way to often...

same problem here. Its the new "come-back code" bug!
Mon Nov 24, 2003 7:48 am
It's not a bug it's supposed to be like that. It's the hardest difficulty level, so what's harder then the cpu making fluke shots?
Mon Nov 24, 2003 8:04 am
But it really kills your motivation if you miss an open dunk with a guy who has this "Dunking Item" beside his name! Then, on the other end of the court, the cpu hits a shot from the locker room. That's simply cheating!!! It's impossible to stop the CPU, even if you play your best Defense...

All easports games have the "comeback code"...I uninstalled Madden2k4 b/c of the severity of it...don't get me started

I have seen no evidence of the comback code in Madden. I agree with a thing from MaddenMania's
"magazine". Go to page 10 and read.

Im starting 2 change my mind about this game now. The game is starting 2 feel a little scripted. If im up in dbl figures, i always know my team is about 2 hit a slump and let the other team back in game, its like clockwork. Players missing wide open dunks only happens when ur up. Then the team get red hot, then u throw a player wide open pass and he misses the catch At 1st i thought i was just playing bad. After u have played a game so many times u always see some kind of pattern, in 03 the center would always do that thing , where they dribble ball down sideline then baseline, u all know it. I have played about 200 games on 04, and this shit happens every game, its boring, u know its gonna start and theres nothing u can do about it. Its AUTO CPU ASSIST
I ave come bak 2 edit this. When i 1st got the game all i noticed where the good things, changes, additions after a while u start 2 see the bad stuff 2, i hate 2 say this cos i have loved every RLS of nba live, 2004 is abit shit(i know other ppl r thinkin it), i dont WANT 2 play it, everygame plays the same. 2day i have been playing Lord of the rings
I Retract my statement
"2004 is abit shit" i would like 2 add
"somethings in NBA Live 2004 are abit shit"

I must have some continuous 4th quarter bad luck b/c in my first three games of the season I've been up by >17 points in all three games entering the fourth and yes - I'm smart enough to use the clock in those situations...in two of the games I was up by 14 with under 2 minutes and in both I fumbled and the cpu took it in for a touchdown and then, what do you know? I fumbled the kickoff and they ran it in to tie it...then of course they won the coin toss in OT...the rest is history - two straight games happened this way...I don't mean this in a mean-spirited way...I'm just saying that there are examples like this that make peeps create a "comeback code" idea...

That usually happens in the NBA

It's hard to keep a lead when you're up. Until you blow them out, then you can cruise.

This again is realistic... When you are up by double digits, your game gets relaxed and sometimes the game gets too relaxed and the opponent can take control and then you could be in trouble unless you do something.
There is no easy way to break a streak in basket ball. You just have to play extra hard and make sure the opponents don't get the easy hoops.
Making a comeback is difficult and yet rewarding... Have you never made a 4th quarter comeback against the AI???
It does happen. And it's the most rewarding win there is...

2 the last 2 posts, comon guys, ur not makin replies relevent 2 the thread.
The way the cpu will step up on D and Offence is very good this year<that shit belongs in another thread!! I know what happens in a game of basketball as i do with live(im since 95) im not new 2 this. NOW I SHALL REPEAT MYSELF AGAIN

This thread is about the BS that starts when the "AI"(yeah, right) decides 2 turn ur "NBA" team into the pg tips monkeys, so u cant make straight forward WIDE OPEN passes, dunks, layups.
Missing a jumper when the d is tight is 1 thing, missing 4 in a row when im wide open cos cpu is down is another.

i agree with the fact that cpu cheats by making all those steals and unbelievable shots when they're down. i don't mind those things though as they happen quite a few times in real basketball games so i don't see no reason it shouldn't happen in live. i admit sometimes u're holding onto a lead and all of a suddent seeing it disappear near the end of a game and losing by a few points can be really frustrating, but i can accept that. however, what i cannot accept is that cpu always outruns u with lightning quick speed. it does this all the time to stop your fastbreak, to rotate to the man they're guarding, to drive in the lane. i was playing against the 90s allstar and jordan who was outside the arc drove by my defender for a dunk with this unbelievably bulletfast speed that i swear it only took him less than 1 sec. ea each year tries to make the game more realistic and one thing to start with is to get rid of all those lickety-split moves that can only performed by cpu.

I agree. The CPU cheats. Yesterday when I played against the computer, the cpu was called for a charge and made a basket. THE BASKET WAS COUNTED!!
note: sorry for my broken english
Tue Nov 25, 2003 9:50 am
I agree that the computer can come, bak when it wants to, but ive only had it happen to me once or twice in my dynasty, and ive still managed to win, so i dont hink its a big deal, its happens in real basketball, wel maybe not making loads of flukes, but sometimes your team can get soo cold you cant hit a thing.
Tue Nov 25, 2003 11:58 am
yeah the cpu does tend to make a run near the end of the 3rd going into the 4th quarter. What I normally do is wait until the 4 quarter and then I set the Defensive pressure on High on all of the players and then Double Team whichever player has the most points up to that point and then I can kind of run away with the game because then the clock runs down they will shoot a 3 then I get to run the breack and win by at least 10.
Tue Nov 25, 2003 1:15 pm
yae i know this happens sometimes in real life but its like the game never wants u to have blowout victories which also happen in real life.....like today i was playing and i was up by 20 in the 3rd and in the 4th i shot 45% which isnt bad but the comp hit 10shots in a row and shot 80sumthin %....4 were three's with a defender right in his face and 2 other 3's with stromile swift and pau gasol in the post...i mean thats pushing it....i won the game but they got it down to 3 and my guys missed about 3 open dunks with 2 minutes left i won b/c i sank free throws....good ol shawn marion
Tue Nov 25, 2003 1:23 pm
and yes it happens a little in madden too b/c i remember being up by not 14 but 21....and i just scored...3mins left in the game...the comp scores of the kick return breking like 7 takles with a lil wide reciever okay im fine with that....then they onside kick my guy gets the ball fumbles and they run it for another one.....okay a lil odd now...then the onside kick and i hold it this time.....i decide to run out the clock running b/c i cant kneel yet so first freaking run i fumble....they recover and tie the game....
overtime i win the toss.... get a pretty good return and i throw a short curl pass, my WR catches gets tackled drops the ball which is caught in the air by the comp and i stop them but they are at my 15 and they kick a field goal
i mean this is just pushing it.....its easier for me to win in bball tho b/c when they are down by more than three i intentional foul them so they can't hit 3's and they intentional foul back and i just hit the throws
