Audio out of sync

Postby teddyboy09 on Sun Nov 02, 2008 3:13 pm

Hey all,

I've encountered a problem that just occurred recently. I haven't played my NBA Live in days, and when I finally got around to it, the audio's not in-sync with the video anymore. I take a shot and it falls in, and about a second later you hear the swish sound. Everything's delayed; from the EA Sports logo, to the menu (the "click" cound it makes when you move your pointer from one option to the other - I drag it from top to bottom and only about a second or so later would the clicks chime in), to the game itself...It's not that it loads the sounds late, because that would mean some would be in sync and the others not. Everything is just delayed.

Is there any solution to this, or would I have to try re-installing the game? Hopefully there is some sort of a solution, as my dvd drive doesn't read anything right now. >_<

Thanks!

If your DVD drive isn't working, how are you playing the game?

Burned a DVD after checking out Live, dvd drive then acted like a shredder and annihilated my disc. I took it out, cleaned it, tried to remove every bit of disc left, and it read some discs fine but after a while it doesn't even detect discs anymore.

Good thing it wasn't my game, but damn, I never even knew dvd drives can chew discs.

Fair enough, but how are you playing the game without a working DVD drive?

Well, right now, I can't play the game, it's just I tested it last before the drive went bonkers on me. I asked if there's a way I can solve the problem without reinstalling so's I can do it now and test it tomorrow (I'll be getting a new dvd drive tomorrow), so that if it works, I don't have to go reinstall the game. :D

Fair enough. When you can play the game again, I'd suggest the usual: backing up your patches and then trying to play without them and see if there's any difference to eliminate the possibility of patches causing a problem, otherwise try a reinstall when you can.

Okay. Been gone for a while, but I finally got around to checking. My game finally works fine again, although I haven't done anything yet; I asked my brother and he said he just did a System Restore to go back to somethingorother (I really should start listening). I don't know if that affected my Live or it was just coincidence, but if it did, I guess he installed/updated/edited something that messed up my Live (and possibly some other programs).

If that is the case, then hopefully it doesn't happen again. Thanks for all the help, though, master Andrew. :D
