Considering I've only seen many of the remakes of these movies and hardly the originals, I can't comment much. I'm going to mark with a * the ones I've actually seen, and a (r) for the remakes. As for the ring I've never seen the jap version.

Of those, I've only seen The Exorcist and The Ring and I'd have to say both were genuinely creepy. However, the creepiest bits of The Exorcist for me weren't the actual exorcism scenes, probably because I'd seen so many parodies that they lost their impact. What startled me was the appearance of Pazuzu for a couple of frames here and there:

And some of the horrible faces that appeared in the shadows leading up to the exorcism scenes.

The Ring? Rosemary's Baby? Seriously? How can they make a list and Children of the Corn can't?

Doobie's probably surfing for Mila Kunis pics and stumbled upon that.

The Exorcist probably tops my list. One of the reasons same as Andrew's.

While 28 Days Later gets my nod for the more recent ones. I get the creeps if I imagine myself being chased by those infected bastards.

Friday the 13th is a honorable mention. Jason is one unstoppable fock.

i have seen some of those movies.. and yes, the exorcist is creepy as hell.. (yes, i get scared a little too much) but regarding the story, the sixth sense would be the one i like most.. kinda old, but still a great movie..

The Shining and The Sixth Sense are the scariest for me. I wasn't really paying attention to The Exorcist 'cause I was getting friendly with a girlfriend

It's worth watching but I do think all the parodies do desensitise you to a certain extent if you see them first.
