Hey i was wondering how much FPS is the most suitable for smooth and lag free gameplay? I'm running on 60fps since I have the game on 640x480 and in windows mode with all the graphics settings low except player detail which is medium.
So what is a good FPS?

30 fps is a minimum. im waitin to get a new video card to have better graphics and play at higher fps xD. 60 fps is good already. tha key is to get tha highest fps as possible so try disabling programs and services using msconfig and services.msc and use tha ram programs i posted. but u gotta kno wat u are doin so else u will F ur computer.

It depends with each system and each game, but you can probably afford to turn the resolution up a notch if you're getting 60fps, that's a lot and it leaves you room for upping some of the settings. As long as you don't get under, let's say 30fps, it should feel comfortable playing it. Other games like Crysis will be quite smooth even down to 22-23fps.

ya i know what you guys are saying but the thing is that when i play full screen it goes down to around 30-35fps and i hate it since it looks like the game is playing in slow motion, also the thing i hate is that fps changes which bugs me a lot since there is lag during one point in the game and lag-free at other points of the game, I don't know why the game is not running at a constant, consistent frame-rate.
And I've noticed that some ppl were saying that 30-40fps is good, but on my laptop when the game runs at 30-40fps, it just feels really slow. Like do some ppl experience 30-40fps differently from other ppl's experience? Is other ppl's 30-40fps faster than others?

30-40fps sounds definitely acceptable, as the human eye usually starts seeing a difference only below 24-25fps. More info about FPS can be found her if you want:

TC#10, from what i have noticed, the framerate changes depending on the angle of the camera...mine lags and drops like hell during start of quarters especially start of 3rd..
but maintains framerate while the game is in progress...in menus, i have constant 60fps but only 30 ingame

Ya in my menus it's constant framerates of like 60fps, and when i put MSAAX2 my ingame frame rate goes to 30fps, which i hate. So i turn MSAA and have a constant framerate of 60fps, sacrafising graphics for gameplay... I really don't care if it doesn't look as good as other pc's as long as i'm experiencing the gameplay is what it matters to me for pc basketball games

Anything lower then 2000 fps can cause brain damage and headaches, not to mention blindness and pralysis.
