Talk about NBA 2K9 here, as well as all previous games in the NBA 2K series.

Select Bioshock, IIRC as benji said.
If it passes the Recommended specs, then you're probably good to go.

Yes, we're going out on a limb and saying that if you can play BioShock, you will be able to play 2K9 at some setting. (Likely a similar setting.)

This is because BioShock's minimum requirements are actually slightly higher than 2K9's, but are basically comparable on the CPU and GPU.

I picked BioShock because it's a game with a demo (for testing), it was early in the list alphabetically, fairly popular, on Steam (as 2K9 requires) and the requirements are very close.

Thanks for the link benj, other than clearing space, I dont have any problems, haha so I do hope when the time my car is fixed, I can go to the Electronics Department and grab my copy, seeing the screens and vids, this is obviously zillions better than EA's, gj.

Why do people even bother gaming on a laptop?

1) it's wildly expensive to get one with a decent video card - expect to spend $2500 while the same desktop would cost you $650 sans screen.

2) Screen's small, even the 17" ones.

3) Batteries run out in 40 minutes or less if you're using full CPU and GPU power.

4) Most people with laptops I know never take them out of the house. They just like the "option" of being able to take them out if the need ever arises.

5) They run extremely hot and will scald your nuts.

6) looks gay plugging a usb controller into a laptop and gaming. And if you're using keyboard, dude I'm sorry man. That pinky shoot button is awfully hard to press.

Cool Cat, you're going to have to run it fairly low on the first PC, second one seems definitely out of luck. You probably will be able to find some combo of settings to at least play it on the first, but I'm not going to guarantee that. And by settings, I mean you'd (and for everyone else who is just hitting minimum) do well to find a camera setting that doesn't show much of the arena as that'll give you a better frame rate.

JWL3, from my experience, most people have gotten laptops for school, etc. and then decide they want to game. (Especially around colleges you see this...the ads and everything push laptops, but rarely anybody ever moves them off their desks in their room.) That's why they're always underpowered. But yeah, it's a mistake a lot of people make. I've always lived on the "build a solid desktop, and get a cheap laptop for web browsing/etc. on the go" philosophy.

Anyway,cant I really play 2k9 on that?

Will it work on an ACER TRAVELMATE 5300??

Basically take it like this. If you fail the BioShock test, you fail at 2K9. If you pass it, you'll probably be able to run 2K9.

They don't buy it for the sole purpose of gaming, they buy it for a different primary priority, which isn't gaming. Thoughts of gaming just come afterwards.

1. See reply above

2. See reply above

4. That's people you only know, not the entire population of laptop owners.

5. There are "cooling pads" which you can insert between the laptop and your nutz. It's pretty thin and small.

6. I guess you suck in the shooter genre then where the pinky finger is utilized. You suck, that's gay.
