##* REMIXTEAM - VIVMAGIC TUTORIAL BACK UP *##

Postby Little_Big_Man on Mon Nov 17, 2003 4:54 am

Go to my site using either mirror shown below my sig to get access to the VIVMAGIC TUTORIAL and DOWNLOAD.

Although you can still do the customart 1 thing to the xstartup.cfg and setup player folders this makes my game extremely slow. I just import the files straight into my xplayer.viv file using VIVMAGIC. For those that don't know how to use it I created a simple tutorial using screenshots to show how easy it is to use and how much faster your game will run without errors and crashing back to the desktop. Just visit my site http://remixteam.zapto.org and on the main page under the NBA Live Resources header will be a link for the VIVMAGIC Tutorial. Hope you like

LBM...read your tutorial good suff...but a question....Do you import the actual .fsh file ora bitmap image to patch the player?

This is a sweet tutorial. Thank a lot for spending the time to show how this is done, it's appreciated. Good work.
The only thing you might want to add to the page is a little more specific information when importing the .fsh file in EAgraphics editor.
What I personally did was select the first option from the 3 (I forget what it was called, I think import a new bitmap image). Then, I found the .fsh file that the patchers provide, and imported it in. Works real nicely.

well you can import bmp's if your actually doing the patch, if its a patch made by a patcher then you would import the fsh file they provided. As far as EAGRAPH I'll try and release a tutorial on that also a little later, I just assumed people knew how to use it since it was also used for 2003

LBM another question....I had converted some headband files and put them into some player folders (of course with custom 1 enabled)...But now I folloed your tutorial and use the VIVMAGIC method. So how would I give players different headbands without using the custom 1 enabled way of patching?

There is probably an easier way but for now this is all that I can think of. use vivmagic to unpack the xplrcmn.viv file. then import the custom headband fsh that you have over one of the generic ones using eagraph. There are quite a few generic NBA logo'd headbands in there. then repack the files using vivmagic again and then just give the player that headband using a dbf editor. this should work though I haven't done it myself yet.

Yeah, that's the thing I don't know what the corresponding numbers are to give a player a certain kind of head band using the dbf editor...Meaning I don't know what number to put for a red headband with nba logo etc....any suggestions?

LBM...I don't mean to be a pain  ....but is it the same process for adding on skin files (acc.fsh) as well, even if the player did not have a custom skin file by default?

I know your probably getting tired of me ...last question though I promise....(for now  )

About those headbands this is what I found out:

graphic file dbf id

hb00 (white) 54
hb00 (black) 55
hb01 01
hb02 02
hb03 03
hb04 04

and so on all the way until

hb53 53

The files are in succession as seen above so when if you replace hb12 with your custom headband then for that player just place under the HEADBAND the number 12 and that should do it.

LBM I was trying to give Lebron the Maroon NBA logo headband hb12 so I changed it from 54 to 12 in the headband column...and instead of maroon it came out black (all black, no logo) ...why is that? Can you try it and see what happens...thanx

Same thing here, it does display black both home and away but the strange thing is that hb12 is not listed in the headacc.dbf file? I believe thats why its not showing up. it has to be listed in the dbf otherwise the game doesn't know it even exists. another glitch from EA

The only way I can think of is to add the custom fsh to the shoes.fsh file and then to add that shoe to the shoesacc.dbf file so that you can have a number to add to the players.dbf under the shoe category. Either that or overwrite an existing shoe and use that number in the players.dbf. As far as custom practice gear, I'm not sure I haven't tested it yet. when I figure out a sure shot way to do both I'll inform you guys
