




Portland, OR - Kobe Bryant scored 64 points as he powered the LA Lakers to a 121-101 win over the Portland Blazers. It was an amazing night for Bryant as he made 66% of his shot and 16 out of 18 from the charity stripe. He also added 5 boards and 3 assists. Brandon Roy, who challenged most of bryant's shots said "He's one the best players to ever play this game. It's like he's in a different zone, in a level of his own." The backcourt of the Blazers took turns in trying to stop bryant, but failed to do so, as they all went into foul troubles early in the game. Bryant said in an interview "Coach wanted me to play more, to be aggressive early in our games' and in the season, then he will try to lessen my playing time after the All Star break to prepare me come playoffs" Pau Gasol added a double-double performance with 14 points and 12 boards while Oj Mayo added 12 points. The Blazers got solid performance from 5 of their players led by rookie Jerryd Bayless with 19 points and 5 assists.
