Talk about NBA 2K9 here, as well as all previous games in the NBA 2K series.

Is it confirmed that 2k9 will be next gen? After seeing some of the next gen graphics, it'd be a huge letdown if it's current gen.
The fact that it's $19.99 makes me believe it's current gen.
Either way, I'm still happy that they're releasing it for the PC.

JWL3, maybe you should read the first post in this thread

I did, but since then there's been a ton of conflicting news from different sources. Wasn't sure how official the forum administrator for 2k sports was.
I still find it unbelievable that they'd release next gen for $19.99 when their PS2 version sells for $19.99 but their PS3 version sells for $45.

For todays pc's "next gen" is the "current gen" now ,shortly "next gen" got old.

Well the official nba 2k9 site lists 2kHD as a feature and that goes along with the 360 and the ps3 versions.
For the 20 dollar pricepoint, well, they want to convert us

prevent piracy, and some third reason i forget.
PS3/360 I'm pretty sure is 60 bucks, not 45.

Yup, sounds like an aggressive campaign to attract and retain all the PC gamers that got frustrated with the only option that they have had for years.

I think you're confusing 2K with Live.

cj_miranda23, I said it's possible that 5-on-5 multiplayer won't be in the pc version. I was speculating, I did not state it as a fact.
To anybody asking about playing with a keyboard, if you can buy 2k9 for $20, you can buy a dual analog gamepad.
Thu Oct 02, 2008 3:57 pm

in Russia that game would cost 9 - 10 $

Well, that's precisely because I've never played 2K that I can't know that, now can I? And Live was never "eye candy" in the first place anyway...

That sucks about the authentication. I usually buy one copy of a game and put it on all my pc's. I'll tolerate it cause of the low price but sheesh.

I expected it to be a little scaled down since this is the first time on PC. Atleast they have the decentsy to sell it for less something EA probably wouldn't do. If this game cant be modded I will be getting it on PS3 though.
Fri Oct 03, 2008 5:52 am
i will be getting it on pc if i cant mod it i will ebay it....

That doesn't make any sense.

Fri Oct 03, 2008 8:18 am
Oh god. This is Bioshockgate all over again.
Fri Oct 03, 2008 8:37 am
WHOA WHOA w8 a min
Is this saying you need to connect to the internet to install
And there is no online play
THIS IS CONFUSING
Fri Oct 03, 2008 12:06 pm
Doesn't bother me much. I don't play online anyway, and my game will be authentic.
Fri Oct 03, 2008 12:12 pm
yeah i don't play online ever. i just want a realistic game with realistic graphics and i believe that 2k will give that to us
