Bucks Beat Nuggets in OT (4th Quarter Intervention)

Bucks vs. Nuggets / 120-114

NOV 18 -- After a short two-day rest the Milwaukee Bucks faced the up-tempo, high-scoring Denver Nuggets and were able to pull out the win, 120-114.

The start of the fourth quarter saw Michael Redd stuggling from the field and Richard Jefferson on 4 fouls. Milwaukee was losing, 75-69, mostly because Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson were on a scoring tier. Redd started to hit a couple of shots tog et him going, but the Melo man answered them all. About three minutes into the quarter, Allen Iverson suffered an injury to his elbow, a huge blow for Denver. He was unable to return. As the quarter winded down, Carmelo had the ball with 24.9 seconds to go, but turned it over due to tight defense by Michael Redd. The Bucks tied the game, off Redd's lay-up at the other end, and the score was 95-95. The shot to win the game was taken by Nene, but he missed the three-point attempt. To overtime we go.

Charlie Villanueva scored the first points of OT, with a dunk. It is unknown to what happened to Richard Jefferson but he had to sit out the rest of the game. Unhappy with something? Who knows? After a steal by Anthony and a time-out, Anthony Carter lost the ball, and the score was tied, 99-99. Andew Bogut broke the tie and hit a lay-up. Too easy. Both Redd and Ridnour hit a three-pointer each increasing the lead to 8; and spectacularly, Andrew Bogut spot up for a open 3 and drained it, his first of the season. Denver was down by 7 with 114-107, that was the end of it. After the attempt was made to come back, the Bucks won it 120-114.

Michael Redd and Carmelo Anthony played well for their ball-clubs, with Redd scoring 44 points, dishing out 8 assists, 3 steals and taking away the Player of the Game. Carmelo Anthony was not too far behind with 43 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks.

The Bucks are now 10-2, and are riding a 5-game winning streak.

safe to say Redd's a 'volume' shooter, eh? ;)

nice win (Y) glad you schooled those Nugget bastards (my Rockets arch-enemy right now)

even though Redd dropped 40+, Bogut had the more impressive game imo

Bucks Blow Lead, Pull it Out in OT (Intervened at 0:24 left in 4th Quarter)

Bucks vs. Jazz / 107-99

NOV 19 -- After a long game in Denver and a quick flight to Utah, the Bucks were tired and saw a 15-point lead vanish. Luckily, they were able to play some good basketball in overtime and beat the Utah Jazz, 107-99.

With the game tied at 82 a piece, 0:24 to go, and with Utah having possession, Milwaukee was nervous. It was said to be one of the best starts in NBA history for the team and they did not want to end their deserved winning streak. The Jazz made an amazing comeback, outscoring the Bucks 32-17 in the quarter. Ronny Brewer had the shot for the win, but it rimmed out. Yet another overtime game.

At the tip the ball was pushed to Jefferson, and he drew the foul and went to the line. He was unable to convert the first but hit the second, giving Milwaukee a one-point lead. Utah made a quick 6-0 run to lead 90-83, which caused a much needed time-out for the Bucks. Andrew Bogut broke the run, and Richard Jefferson started to score. After a dunk from R.J. plus a foul; he could not score the free-throw but they had the lead, 91-90. Later, Redd made a crucial steal and fast-break, 1 on 0 dunk. After drawing the foul, Brewer missed a clutch free-throw, but made the second which cut the lead to two, 95-93. Michael Redd hit the dagger, a three-pointer to increase the lead for good, 98-93. Unfortunately a bad landing by Okur caused a unwanted injury for Utah. Milwaukee went on to win, 107-99.

"It is horrible as a coach to see a team play so well through three quarters but then let their guard down in the fourth. Really, unacceptable. Even thought we got the win in overtime I hope it is something that won't happen again," said a dismayed Scott Skiles.

"I must admit, they played a little bit cocky, and did not realize that they gave us a chance to come back," said Carlos Boozer.

Michael Redd had a second straight 40-point game, scoring 41 points on 15-28 shooting including 6-8 from downtown, 5 assists and 5 steals. Although a 20 point, 13 rebound double-double by Charlie Villanueva stands out as well.

Carlos Boozer also had a double-double, with 21 points and 11 rebounds. However Deron Williams had a team high 24 points, 5 assists and 5 steals.

The Bucks are now 11-2 and are on a 6 game winning streak.

Don't worry, I'm going to make it harder for me, you won't see me have a 82-0 type boring season.

Are you going to trade for a starting player rather then bench players?

Well, I like my starting 5, they produce pretty good stats consistantly. Until one of them starts to get upset or start to decline in performance I will make a trade.

BTW, I will be on holiday for the next week so I won't be able to update this until then!

The Rose trade was dumb, but this dynasty is solid. Glad to see you lose a bit more, to keep the realism and entertainment up.

I'm back. :D

Lamrock, Charlie Bell was killing my team chemistry and had the lowest "morale" out of all my players. Dan Gadzuric was a lump on my IR and costed something like $5 million for NOTHING. I found Rose, only 1 year on his contract and $7 million, about $2 million less than Bell and Gadzuric together, plus I lose him at the end of this year.

Clutch, I am using NBA Live 08, and Andrew Bogut's bench order meter was very low, and he was starting. Also, one of his comments said "If I need to come off the bench, I will" or something similar, so I made the switch to see if that aspect of the chemestry increases.

Bucks Win at the Buzzer Against Cleveland (4th Quarter Intervention)

Bucks vs. Cavaliers / 96-94

NOV 27 -- The Milwaukee Bucks had the game in the bag after Michael Redd hit the buzzer-beater to take the win against the Cleveland Cavaliers, 96-94.

The fourth quarter started with the Bucks down, 75-74. Both Luke Ridnour and Andrew Bogut were struggling, combining for 3-13 from the field. Richard Jefferson started the quarter with a dunk, but Michael Redd picked up an early 5th foul which caused him to be subbed out. A great effort by the Bucks started a 8-0 which cut the lead to two, 78-76. Zydrunas Ilgauskas broke the run with a lay-up. Michael Redd returned to the game and hit a quick three-pointer to cut the lead to 86-83. And, and Andrew Bogut steal with 2:02 to go was big. He passed it to Redd who hit another three to give them the lead, 88-87. Wally Szczerbiak answered with his own three to tie the game at 90. Bogut got a dunk, but Gibson scored too, on a jumpshot to tie it again at 94 with only 23 seconds to go. Michael Redd decided not to go for a timeout. He stood at the 45 degree at the three point line and waited. An isolation was called and he made a move. He crossed over, once twice, thrice, drove pulled up quickly. He had a clean shot, and drained it with only 1 second to go. Cleveland had no timeouts so the threw it up court but it was too late. The Bucks won it, 96-94.

nba_baller, this is a pretty good dynasty. Props to you. I like the layout. I been wondering how I was going to do my Association since it's on console and you've given me some ideas but I don't think I will use them because I just don't have the time to do it. However, I still like this dynasty here. (Y)
