Mav's Dynasty

Postby Fergy666 on Mon Sep 01, 2008 6:32 pm

Hey I've been doing a Mav's dynasty and John Terry is getting on a bit so i wanted to trade him for a young and talented SG. I want somone that isnt too short (so they can at least jump and reach the hoop), a good outside shooter and fast. Anyone have any ideas?

Isn't it Jason Terry? Any way you could trade terry and two players to whomever has Jr. Smith and another player. Smith is a highflyer and can jump and has a good fiel goal stat i believe it's in the 70's and you could always train smith if you get him in offense, in fact i think his three point stat is in the 70's to. You'd be getting a younger player who could improve more than terry in the name of jr. smith.

When you assign training time to a player, the whole team gets trained but extra attention is given to the player whom you select. The likelihood that a player will improve through training depends on a couple of hidden attributes, some players respond well to training while others show little improvement. Depending on the player, you might find the rest of the team shows more improvement from the training time you've set than the one you've chosen to focus upon.

Additionally, the more time you assign to one area, the more likely a player's ratings will improve in the categories it covers. If you have a fairly young and athletic team, you might not want to assign as much time to developing your team's athleticism and instead focus on improving their offensive and defensive skills. Similarly, if you find you have no trouble scoring but would like to improve your defense, you can forego assigning a significant amount of time to Offense and instead assign most of it to Defense.

i ended up getting gordon, he was a free agent and only 25 so i might keep him around for a while and train up some rookies. now i just gotta find someone good to trade terry for. everyone keeps going on about durant, but i cant see why hes so good judging on his stats etc.

just finished the year and the heat wanted me to coach them, decided id give a crack coz i get bored with the same team lol. had NO good players so i signed iverson and harris from the free agents. already had carmello anthony from a previous trade they did the year before.
first lot of trades i did were
Shaq, Iverson for L.James and Iggansuskksisis (cant be bothered spelling it right lol)

then Shaq for Carmello anthony coz i wanna retire shaqs jersey, plus i had james now.

Then igaigiannakus for D.Cook from toronto. so my starting lineup is now

C Shaq
PF C.Frye
SF L.James
SG D.Ccook
PG. D.Harris

then i got durant, brewer, and the first and 2nd draft pick from last year on the bench.

I cant find any other good PG's who arent old as hell lol. I had Morris Almond at the Mav's and he was pretty good, but i like using new players

The best way to make sure your guys improve after training is to get at least two assistants and use both assistants on the same player. Sometimes though one of the two assistants may have an unsuccessful coaching session with a player and you may not get results from that assistant at the end of the month but when you assisgn training time from both assitants on one player you're gaurunteed to get results from one or both assistants. And if you can afford it get an assistant head coach with at least an a- development grade so he can boost your asssistants abilities. 99% of the time when you have an assistant head coach with at least an a- development grade your players will improve even with one assistant.

EDIT: got it working again thank god lol, denver nuggets wanted me, so i thought id give it a crack

team now is

C: Yao
PF: Bosh
SF: Reyes or something lol some rookie guy
SG: Wade
PG: M. Williams

Traded Camby and a scrub to get Yao
Traded K.Martin and scrub to get Bosh....seemed like good trades to me, and so far the team is going well. almost too well, might need to adjust the sliders a bit
